Which Size of Panel? 20 or 40? Window Size 24-60 = 20 panels Window Size 60 + = 40 panels This is a recommendation and can be altered based on your client s preference, room scale, and budget.
Measuring Panel Lengths 1. Best practice is to measure the panel to start a minimum 4 above top of window. You can add height in consideration of room room décor and client s request. 2. Best practice for length is; 4 below sill (sill length) 4 Above Window Minimum Window ½ off floor (floor length) 1 2 on floor (trouser break) 6-12 on floor (puddle length) Sill Length * Any panel length touching floor should be stationary. * Panels in the room should start at same window height Floor Floor Length Trouser Break Puddle Length
Floor length ½ off floor Trouser break 1-2 on floor Puddle length 6 12 on floor
Measuring Rod Width 1. Measure the window inside molding 2. Determine hang- fully taut, semi relaxed, or stacked 3. Determine how the drapery is going to be positioned on the wall including molding and then on the window. For example: 20 panels in the semi relaxed position may have 5 on the window and 10 on the wall/molding Drapery Width on Wall Right + Drapery Width on Wall Left + Window Size= Rod Length
