They are tested under the highest standards in domestic applications. That means we can offer you a 10-year guarantee that covers these products marked with the logo below, against defects in materials and workmanship. This guarantee is subject to the terms and conditions stated in this folder. 3
How long is the guarantee valid? The guarantee for the bathroom products stated below remains in force for ten (10) years and is valid from the date of purchase. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase. What is covered under this guarantee? This guarantee applies to domestic use only and covers defects in material and workmanship in the following furniture: GODMORGON furniture GODMORGON legs ODENSVIK and VITVIKEN porcelain washbasins and included watertrap BRÅVIKEN, NORRVIKEN and BREDVIKEN crushed marble washbasins and included watertrap GODMORGON storage unit set of 3, box with compartments, box with lid, storage with compartments. All bathroom mixer taps. This guarantee is to the benefit of the original purchaser of the product. It is not transferable. Products not covered under this guarantee Aerator - expandable item in the washbasin taps What will IKEA do to correct the problem? IKEA will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under this guarantee. If considered covered, IKEA through its own service operations will then, at its sole discretion, offer to: repair the defective product or 4 5
replace it with the same or a comparable product or contribute towards a suitable replacement The amount of contribution will be correspondent with the age of the product. For example: if the product has been used for 2 years, IKEA will contribute 80% of the purchase price towards the replacement. If it is covered by this guarantee, IKEA will pay the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for repair staff, that IKEA incur, provided that the product is accessible for repair without special expenditure. This does not apply to any repair work not authorized by IKEA. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. It is IKEA that determines, at its sole discretion, what constitutes an appropriate replacement. What is not covered under this guarantee? This guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or cleaning products. This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents, pest infestations or items bought from AS-IS. This guarantee does not apply if the product has been placed outdoors or in a humid environment. Care instructions Furniture At IKEA we recommend using a soft cloth dampened with water or a non-abrasive detergent. Wipe dry with a clean cloth. Our bathroom furniture has been specially adapted for bath-rooms. However, the furniture should never be exposed to excessive water contact or extremely high humidity. All wet marks, should be dried off as soon as possible to stop moisture penetration. Make sure your bathroom is properly ventilated and avoid placing furniture close to the bathtub or shower. Washbasins For daily cleaning of the washbasins simply use a cloth damped in water or a non-abrasive detergent. Crushed marble To maintain the original finish, a crushed marble washbasin should not come in contact with acids, ammonia, strong detergents, hair dye or chlorine. Scouring powder, steel wool, hard or sharp tools can scratch the surface. Use the cleaning agent supplied to remove any small scratches or stains from the surface. Porcelain washbasins To maintain the original finish, the washbasin should not come in contact with strong acids like hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid, and strong alkalis (e.g. caustic soda). This guarantee does not cover consequential or incidental damages. Mixer Taps Let water run through the bathroom mixer tap before using it for the first time. Screw off the filter/aerator and run water through it for about 5 minutes. Then screw it back on again. 6 7
water and rinse with plain water. At IKEA, we recommend removing the filter/aerator on the bathroom mixer tap and cleaning it now and then. If the filter/ aerator has a build-up of calcium, wash it in a vinegar solution. Read more in the care and advice instruction that comes with the product. Certificates All our mixer taps have been tested and approved to meet standards and requirements stipulated by PUB, Singapore. Installation Furniture must be fixed to the wall. Secure that the walls in your bathroom can support the weight of the furniture, as wrong installation may cause injury or damage. If you are uncertain about the installation, contact a professional.
