We require more public transport options that take us across our district and not just focussing on going into the CBD. Investment in a public transport, such as a metro or lightrail, that follows the King Georges Road which goes across our district would revitalise this corridor.

Investigation of rebates for electric bikes to encourage commuters to use bikes to get to the train station instead of single passengers in cars. 5 Conservation of the former Oatley Bowling Club site in its entirety will recognise the work of Myles Dunphy, father of Conservation in NSW and Oatley resident played in acquiring this recreational space for future generations to enjoy. The site was acquired with the help of the Parks and Playground Movement NSW. Milo Dunphy, son of conservation in NSW and Oatley resident, helped more than double National Park area in NSW, was the architect on the former bowling club buildings. Any rezoning of the site for redevelopment is not what the majority of the community supported during consultation in 2009 and shows no respect for the local significance of the site.

Street Art- Perfect Match program from the former Marrickville Council should be encouraged in suburbs across the South district. A way of reinvigorating train tunnels and subways. Our district should also consider the benefit of outdoor sculpture events in Cronulla or Oatley Park. Similar to Sculptures by the Sea or Blue Mountains Sculpture Trail. The enhancement of parks and bushlands to include fairy trails and sensory trails to encourage local tourism would also be beneficial. 5 The strategy needs to consider how elderly residents in the South District can be encouraged and included to recreational spaces. Passive recreation options for all age groups. Spaces that encourage all age groups to enjoy, help and learn about the natural environment through bushcare and landcare opportunities.

There are a number of community groups that are struggling to find locations to hold their community activities due to the dramatic reduction in community halls in the former Hurstville Council area over the past 10 years. 3
