HUNGERFORD SOLAR FARM Key Facts The site comprises approximately 26 acres/10.6 hectares of Grade 3 and 4 agricultural land, currently in arable use. It will have a generation capacity of approximately 5 MWp - enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 1,500 homes and save around 2,150 tonnes of CO2 per year. The solar farm can be connected to the National Grid through a 33kV cable on-site. The site is easily accessible from Pale Lane. We expect a maximum of 2 HGV movements a day during the peak construction period. Community Benefits A community benefit fund would be set up, which would pay 1,000 per MWp installed capacity (index-linked) for the 25-year lifetime of the solar farm. This is likely to amount to 5,000 a year, or over 125,000 for the lifetime of the solar farm. We will work with the local Parish Councils on how this could best be used to bring economic, social and environmental benefits to the area. We will allocate additional funding of 2,000 a year (index-linked) for local schools to be used for educational purposes linked to the solar farm.
