CLASSIC STYLE CONDITIONING HOPPER DIMENSIONS & PARTS Hoppers are custom made to fit into the space of the existing gin stand feeder hopper. The overall height, width and depth varies from installation to installation. A typical CLASSIC STYLE side double entry hopper is shown below. The following drawings are to be used for typical dimensions and views for Double Entry and Single Entry Hoppers. Consult factory for recommended layout for moist air piping. 14100 Humid Air Valve (One for single entry, two for double entry) Valve in open position. Note roll pin indicator position. Roll pin valve position indicator Valve in closed position. 13550 Inlet Transition 7 inch dia to 3 X 14, 12 inch overall length (One supplied for single entry, two for double entry) PAGE 1 of 24 CONDITIONING HOPPER

END ENTRY STYLE DOUBLE AIR ENTRY CONDITIONING HOPPER The End Entry Style Double Entry Conditioning Hopper is shown below. Humid air enters the valves located on the ends of the Hopper requiring only one manifold pipe to connect multiple hoppers. Consult factory for recommended layout of air piping. Hoppers are custom made to fit into the space of the existing gin stand feeder hopper. The overall height, width and depth varies from installation to installation. A drawing showing typical dimensions and the dimensions required for construction is shown on next page. 14100 Humid Air Valve with 13550 Transition PAGE 4 of 24 CONDITIONING HOPPER

PARTS FOR THE CONDITIONING HOPPERS A 13865 Plant Installation Package is included with the hopper order. It includes a 13850 or 20093 Valve Relay Panel, a 13860 Relief Plug and a 13855 Air Filter, Regulator, Lubricator Assembly. The 13850 Valve Relay Panel is used with all Samuel Jackson Humidaire Units except the HU-60-1260 oil-fired Humidaire Unit. Use the 20093 panel for the 1260 model. Refer to the section on electrical schematics for the wiring to match your model Humidaire Unit. 13850 Valve Relay Panel 20093 Valve Relay Panel (Note 5th relay required for use with the HU-60-1260 model Humidaire Unit) 13855 Air Filter, Regulator and Lubricator Assembly One Assembly supplies air to all hoppers in the system. Adjust regulator to about 80 psi pressure. PAGE 6 of 24 CONDITIONING HOPPER
INSTALLATION OF 13860 RELIEF PLUG ASSEMBLY The purpose of the Relief Plug is to allow a constant flow of air through the Humidaire Unit regardless of whether the hopper(s) are calling for air. The weights are adjusted on the plug so that no air is relieved when all hoppers are calling for air and all air is relieved when no hoppers are calling for air. On the following page is a drawing showing the typical installation of the 13860 Relief Plug. Consult the factory for more information on its installation or to the sheet metal installation drawings supplied with the piping. Removable stack weights PAGE 7 of 24 CONDITIONING HOPPER

HOOK-UP OF 14100 HUMID AIR VALVE A decal is located near the air solenoid valve to help identify the valve ports. Compressed air of 80 psi (5.5 bars) is sufficient to operate the valve. This air should come from the 13855 Filter, Regulator and Lubricator Assembly. The solenoid valve coil is always 110-120 volt, 50 or 60 HZ. Its power comes from the Humidaire Unit. Moist air butterfly valve is closed when coil is energized. CONTROL LOGIC FOR HUMID AIR VALVES The butterfly valve in the 14100 Humid Air Valve should close the moist air flow off to the hopper when cotton is not flowing through the hopper. It is most common for the 240 VAC or 110 VAC signal to the Valve Relay Panel terminals 1,2, 3 and 4 (corresponding to each gin stand) to come from the gin stand breast in limit switch. Sometimes, the signal comes from the gin stand feeder feed works control. Terminal 9 is the common terminal for the signal input. A13850 or 20093 Relay Panel controls the action of the solenoid valves on the 14100 Humid Air Valves and the water pump run signal to the Humidaire Unit. If no hoppers are calling for cotton, the water pump run signal is off. As soon as one hopper calls for cotton, a water pump run signal is given. The solenoid valve coils on the 14100 Humid Air Valves are always 110-120 VAC. Their power comes from the Humidaire Unit. SJI Part No. 13146 Relays should be used for 120 VAC inputs. SJI Part No. 13864 Relays should be used for 240 VAC inputs. PAGE 10 of 24 CONDITIONING HOPPER
