Gas Tight Design In some instances, it is necessary to operate a system under an inert gas blanket. Bepex MS-Series compactors are available with gas-tight housings. Pressure ratings of over 2 psi are available. This design is imperative when processing materials that cannot contact oxygen. Corrosion Resistance When processing corrosive materials it is important to protect the equipment as well as to prevent contamination of your material. In all compactor applications, Bepex lines the interior of the press head to minimize contact with the processed material. As requirements dictate, the entire compacting head can be manufactured from stainless steels or other alloys. Custom Roll Design Bepex Offers Three Roll Designs Each roll surface is tailored for specific feed-material characteristics and process goals. All Bepex rolls are state-of-the-art. Rugged design, the finest materials and precision machining offer complete process compatibility. And all rolls can be factory resurfaced to exacting, original specifications. Integral Roll In certain instances, the non-abrasive nature of the material being processed allows the use of a solid roll shaft. In this case, the working profile is machined directly into the shaft. In other cases, hardfacing materials or corrosion-resistant working surfaces are applied by submerged arc welding. Integral roll, with specialized alloy overlay Roll Tires The most versatile compacting rolls employ a replaceable tire. The tire is machined from suitable tool steel and shrink-fitted to the shaft. Tires offer an excellent balance between economy and service life. Segmented Rolls In cases involving extreme abrasion or high temperature, individual roll segments made of special alloys are used. Our unique design allows for ease of replacement. Segments can be replaced without removing the rolls from the machine, minimizing costly downtime while maintaining product quality. Standard Features That Minimize Downtime Available Pinned Frame Facilitates Roll Removal Easily removable tapered pins allow for quick disassembly of the frame. Repositioning the frame member creates a platform on to which the roll assemblies can be positioned. This makes removal and installation quicker and safer. Easily accessible cheek plates Special frame aids in roll removal Sectional Feed Hopper An easily removable panel allows access to the feed screw. The screw shaft is constructed so the feed screw can be removed from the machine without disturbing the drive assembly. Cheek Plate Access On most models, the frame is designed to eliminate forces being transmitted into the center post. Cheek plate replacement is made easy and can be serviced directly through the center post without disturbing the feeder assembly. Control Systems Control systems can be provided for the most demanding specifications. All control systems incorporate the Q-Eye controller, a system that varies the speed of the compactor feed screw to insure consistent product quality. Automatic process control systems are available. Roll Enclosure Each MS-Series machine is equipped with a near dust-tight roll enclosure. The enclosure is fabricated from materials compatible with the process. This design prevents the leakage of dust into the atmosphere and keeps the working parts of the machine clean of powder buildup.
