ABOUT MIL-TEK In the beginning Denmark, 1992. A Supermarket Manager named Kristian Skannerup had become increasingly frustrated that cardboard and plastic waste was cluttering his workspace. He set about designing a machine that would resolve this issue. Within 2 years, demand for the solution rocketed as businesses around the world sought to optimize their workspace with a simple, low-energy solution. Large mill-size balers became increasingly unpopular in favour of smaller, quieter machines. Mil-tek s growth has seen it s expansion to a wide range of balers, waste compactors, polystyrene compactors, can crushers, hydraulic presses and accessories. Mil-tek continues to go from strength to strength. With over 60 sales and distribution channels around the world, we continue our commitment to produce environmentally friendly balers and compactors for an environmentally conscious market. Mil-tek was founded in 1992 in Denmark. From there it expanded to over 60 locations in 30 countries. 4 ABOUT MIL-TEK

EN16500 STANDARD New standard for vertical balers Over the past number of years, Mil-tek has worked wit the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) committee that has been committed to creating new and improved standards for the safe use of vertical balers. As a result of these regular committee meetings, the CEN (the European Committee for Standardization) have introduced the new EN16500:2014 standards, which are designed to rigorously protect users through all aspects of the machines operation. These standards cover all aspects of use including but not exclusive to the bale chamber, the bale ejection area, the controls actuators and devices, emergency stop systems, noise reduction, instruction manuals and labels and any other potential hazards a user could face. The design of the machine is entirely committed to ergonomic and safe use. In accordance with these new standards, Mil-tek has updated its range of balers (models 2102, 2205, 2305, 2306 and 2509) with key changes and improvements to comply with these standards. In addition, though not a baler, our new 2101 Can Crusher has been designed to meet this new safety standard. Vital Health and Safety Requirements Due to the nature of machinery used in the waste and recycling industry, it is vital to stay ahead of health and safety requirements to minimize the risk of accidents and to ensure safe instructions are available for the users of waste handling equipment. Mil-tek have been manufacturing Balers and Compactors since 1992 and have been at the forefront of compliance and proactivity in improving health and safety standards since this time. Our machines have been certified by CE (Europe), ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and AS/NZ 4024.1, (Australia & New Zealand). The Danish headquarters have been certified by DNV in both ISO 14001 and ISO9001. Our commitment to safety in general and safe machine use is unparalleled. 8 EN16500 STANDARD

Compact at source A carefully analysed and planned sorting process minimizes the risk of injuries caused by waste congestion in the workplace, or of injury from moving bulky uncompacted waste. Quality-safety banding To provide additional safety at the workspace, we provide our very own Mil-tek banding. The Mil-tek produced banding is manufactured in-house at our headquarters in Denmark and is available for purchase on our web-shop in many locations around the world. Our Banding is safety tested to withstand more than the bale weights our balers can produce, ensuring that dense bales remain intact for transportation and offering peace of mind to the user that they will not break during the baling process. 12 HEALTH & SAFETY
