Installation Installation The Fan Unit Can be Mounted in Three Positions How to Select the Mounting Method Option A: Floor Stand Mount Accommodates beds up to 36 inches in height Option B: Under Mattress Mount 1. For most bed styles, we recommend using Option A, the floor stand mounting method. This method works best for beds that are less than 36 inches in height. 2. Option B is the under mattress mount, which works well for beds where the mounting bracket can be slid under the mattress. 3. The bed rail mount option can be used on beds that have side rails from 0.75 to 2.75 inches wide where the under mattress or floor stand mounts are not ideal. WARNING: Use of bed rail mount on elevated beds, such as an upper bunk bed, is not recommended and may result in product damage or injury if the fan unit becomes dislodged. Option C: Bed Rail Mount Fits bed rails from 0.75 to 2.75 inches Four Basic Steps to Install the PureZone System 1. Connect remote to fan unit 2. Assemble mounting bracket and secure fan unit to bracket 3. Insert a pillow into pillowcase pocket and HEPA filter into sleeve 4. Connect pillowcase assembly to fan unit and plug in power cord CAUTION: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. 6 PureZone Technologies, LLC PureZone Technologies, LLC 7

Check dual chambered pillow case size on tag, which is located inside the zippered pocket. Slide HEPA Filter into Pillowcase Sleeve NOTE: Position HEPA filter so pleat faces upwards as shown. 16 PureZone Technologies, LLC PureZone Technologies, LLC 17

Operation Operation Snap Plastic Filter Body into Top of Fan Unit User Interface Symbols and Settings Heater Setting (off, low, medium, high) Fan Setting (low, medium, high) Note: On startup, fan runs at high speed for 15 seconds and is then adjustable. Power (off, on) Change-Filter Indicator (change filter if lit) NOTE: After 1500 hours of use, change filter indicator will activate. To reset, turn the fan unit on and hold down the heater and fan buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds. Plug Fan Unit Into Outlet and Operate Using Control buttons on the Fan Unit or Remote Keep Intake Clear CAUTION: Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard fan or return for examination and/or repair. CAUTION: Do not run cord under carpet. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. PRECAUTION: For proper airflow ensure that the fan unit intake is clear of bedding. 18 PureZone Technologies, LLC PureZone Technologies, LLC 19

Cleaning and Maintenance Troubleshooting The pillowcase/filter assembly is designed for a quick disconnect from the fan unit by lifting the side tabs on the filter cowling. The pillowcase is launderable in cold or warm water. Do not use a fabric softener as the residue may block the airflow and interfere with performance. Do not wash the HEPA filter. Clean the pre-filter monthly by running it under cold tap water. The intake pre-filter is located under the plastic logo piece (Figure 1), which is snap-fit onto the fan unit. A new intake pre-filter is included with each replacement filter and should be changed with the HEPA filter every six months. Figure 1 The system is working correctly when the pillowcase inflates with the airflow from the fan unit. If this is not the case, check the following troubleshooting tips or call customer service at 1-877-787-3977. Problem Pillowcase is not inflating but the fan unit is running. Solution The most common cause for this problem is a collapsed pillowcase sleeve that is restricting the airflow. 1. First, check that the pillowcase sleeve is not twisted. If twisted, untwist the pillow case to open the airflow path. 2. Make sure the fan unit is not too far away or too close to the pillowcase assembly. If so, move the fan unit to an appropriate distance from the pillowcase assembly. 3. Check that the intake pre-filter is not heavily loaded. If so, clean under cold tap water or replace. 4. Inspect pillow case for ripped seams or holes. Plastic Logo Piece Pre-Filter WARNING: To ensure proper operation, change the HEPA filter ever 1500 hours of use (approximately 6 months) according to the change filter indicator light. CAUTION: The fan unit is an electrical appliance and should be unplugged before performing cleaning or maintenance to reduce the risks of electrical shock, injury or fire. Fan unit is not turning on when I press the power button. The remote doesn t light up or work. The lights on the fan unit are lit, but the system is not responding to commands from the user interface or remote. I replaced the filter, but the change filter light is still lit on the fan unit. Heater and fan lights are blinking. Check that the unit is securely plugged into the outlet. Also, check that the circuit breaker is active and has not been tripped either at the outlet if a protection circuit is in place or at the breaker where mains power is distributed. Check that the remote is firmly plugged into the connector at the bottom of the fan unit. Try unplugging the unit from the wall for 20 seconds before resuming normal operation to reset the software and processor. You need to reset the change filter light. To do so, turn the fan unit on and hold the heat and fan speed buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds (either on the fan unit or remote). This should reset the change filter light. The Tilt Switch has engaged; unplug the unit from the wall outlet and then plug the unit back into the wall outlet to reset the Tilt Switch. This can occur if the unit is knocked over or is tipped more than 35 degrees. 20 PureZone Technologies, LLC PureZone Technologies, LLC 21
