1 - INTRODUCTION Bio-Art's water Distiller was developed for general use where it is necessary to use distilled water and primarily for use in steam sterilization autoclaves. Important: For some specific applications even distilled water must be submitted to special processes to meet unique requirements. Make sure the chemical parameters obtained in the distillation meet your needs. 2 - PACKAGING CONTENTS 01 - Condensation top lid 02 - Water nozzle 03 - Tank nozzle 04 - Tank for distilled water 05 - Tank cap 06 - Power supply cable 07 - Cable connector of top lid 08 - Electric cable of top lid 09 - Evaporation unit (with stainless steel internal reservoir) 10 - Activated carbon filter 11 - Instructions manual 10 Destilador de água 11 M A N UA L D E I N S T R U Ç Õ E S s o l u ç õ e s i n t e l i g e n t e s Figure 1 3 - INSTALLATION 3.1 TOP COVER Figure 2 INSTALLATION DETAIL OUTPUT NOZZLE Connect water nozzle (02) on condensation top lid (01); OUTPUT NOZZLE TOP COVER 2
3.3 3.2 Connect power cable (06) on the evaporator unit (09) which also has an energy output for condensation cap (01) where the connector should be plugged (07) Place condensation top cover (01) on evaporation unit (09) 3.4 Nota Insert the nozzle (03) on tank (04) then properly position them under the water nozzle (02) of condensation top cover (01). The activated carbon internal filter (11) is placed inside the nozzle (02) and should only be used if the water is used for human consumption Attention: The Bio-Art Water Distiller is manufactured for 127 or 220VAC voltages and does not possess a bivolt switching system and must be connected to electric network with grounding and bipolar protection devices (breakers). Note: The active carbon filter (10) should only be used if the water is used for human consumption, in this case it should be placed inside the water nozzle (02). 4 - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE 4.1 - Carefully remove the Condensation Top Lid (01). It is not necessary to remove the connector (07); 4.2 - Fill the stainless steel internal reservoir of the evaporating unit (09) with water to the highest level, but avoiding overflow; Note: The final distillation cycle time can be reduced by filling the reservoir with hot water). 4.3 - Replace the condensation top lid (01) on the evaporator unit (09) making sure that the silicone lid seal (01) is correctly adjusted to the nozzle of the unit (09) and that the connector (07) is correctly plugged into the evaporation unit (09); 3
4.4 - Place the tank (04) with its nozzle (03) under the water nozzle (02); 4.5 - Press the power button. The pilot light will turn on and the propeller of the top lid (01) will start automatically spinning initiating the distillation process; 4.6 - The water will begin to drip into the reservoir after approximately 30 minutes. It will take approximately 4 hours to distill 4 liters of water. Important notes: - When the equipment is new, do not use the water from the first distillation. You need a cycle to clean the distiller; - Use the distiller in a dry and well ventilated place; - The distiller will turned off automatically when the cycle ends; - To interrupt a cycle in course, remove the power supply cable (06) of the evaporating unit (09) from the electrical outlet; - Wait until the inner stainless steel reservoir of the evaporator plant (09) cools down before supplying the next distillation cycle with water, thus avoiding thermal shocks, which may cause damages and reduce the life of the distiller; - Keep the evaporation unit (09) dry and fill it with water with a pitcher or with the water reservoir itself (04); - Always leave the power cable disconnected from the outlet when the distiller is not in use; - None of the parts of the distiller can be submerged in water; - Never remove the condensation top lid (01) during the cycle. Always make sure that the distiller is turned off and that the pilot light is off. 4
5 - TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEMS POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION The distiller will not turn on when pressing the power button and the indicator light remains off. - After a complete distillation cycle, a low production of distilled water is observed. - Distiller power failure. - Check the electrical grid and its circuit breakers - Lack of water in the stainless steel and make sure that the power supply cable (06) reservoir of the evaporation unit (09). and upper lid cable (08) are properly connected. - Condensation top lid (01) has no - Check and fill the reservoir with water up to the power. maximum limit. - Power button not activated. - Check the connection of the connector (07). - Press the power button. Low level of water in the reservoir Condensation top lid (01) undocked from the evaporation chamber. Vazamentos no reservatório (04) Regulate the level of water up to the maximum limit of the evaporating unit stainless steel reservoir (09). Check the fit between the condensation top cap (01) and the evaporator unit (09) through the silicone seal. Steam leak. Leaks in the tank (04) Condensation top lid (01) undocked from the evaporation unit (09). Check for possible leaks due to poorly fitting, cracks or holes in the tank (04). Check the perfect fit between the condensation top lid (01) and the evaporating unit (09) through the silicone seal. Condensation top lid (01) is damaged: condensation coil and/or mini fan. Contact any Bio-Art Authorized Service Center. 6 - MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING The stainless steel inner reservoir of the evaporating unit (09) should be rinsed with clean water and wiped dry with a dry cloth every day according to the following steps: 6.1 - Disconnect the connector cable from the top lid (07) and remove the condensation lid (01) from the unit (09); 6.2 - Cover the accumulated residue on the bottom of the stainless steel reservoir with hot water; Note: For the removal of possible rust or calcium stains accumulated on the bottom of the tank, it is possible to add a specific detergent for cleaning stainless steel in the water (e.g. "Steel Clean" produced by Asfer Chemical Industry). In these cases, check the amount of detergent according to the level of residues, stains, and manufacturer's specifications; 6.3 - Remove the unit's (09) lid (01) and connect the equipment for 30 minutes in order to warm up the solution and perform the cleanup process; Attention: To avoid internal contamination of the distiller by waste and detergent during the cleaning process, never turn the distiller on with the condensation top lid (01) connected to the equipment. Only use the evaporation unit (09) for heating water. 6.4 - Empty the stainless steel reservoir, wash it and rinse it with clean water and finally dry it with a clean, dry cloth; 6.5 - For external cleaning, use only a soft cloth with neutral soap and water. Never use solvents or chemical products. 6.6 - If the activated carbon filter (10) is used, it must be replaced every 03 months. 5
