The electricity generated will be fed into the national grid via the existing Eskom Droërivier Substation via an approx. 3km long 132kV transmission line (parallel to one of two existing Eskom servitudes). Associated infrastructure includes: an on-site substation, auxiliary buildings, access and internal roads, perimeter fencing etc. The procedures for S&EIR process in terms of the 2010 Regulations (R544, R545 & R546) are being followed for this project. The following activities may be applicable: (R544) Activity 10(i) - The construction of facilities or infrastructure for the transmission and distribution or electricity (i) outside urban areas or industrial complexes with a capacity of more than 33kV, but less than 275kV. A 132kV overhead transmission line from the solar facility to the Droerivier Substation. (R544) Activity 11(x) & (xi) The construction of buildings, infrastructure or structures covering 50m² or more where such construction occurs within a watercourse or within 32m of a watercourse, measured from the edge of a watercourse. Possible crossing of washes/seepage lines by access/internal road network & PV infrastructure. (R544) Activity 18(i) The infilling or depositing of any material of more than 5 cubic metres into, or the dredging, excavation, removal or moving of soil, sand, shell grit, pebbles or rock from (i) a watercourse. Nr: 16/3/1/6/6/C3/2/0113/14 Cape Environmental Assessment Practitioners (Pty) Ltd (Cape EAPrac) is aangestel deur die Droërivier Solar Power Plant (Pty) Ltd (die Aansoeker), as die onafhanklike omgewingsinvloedbepaling praktisyn (EAP), om die Omvangsbepaling & Omgewinginvloedbepalings (O&OIB) proses te fasiliteer, wat in terme van die Wet op Nasionale Omgewingsbestuur (NEMA, Wet 107 van 1998) en 2010 Impakstudie Regulasies nodig is, vir die voorgestelde Droërivier Sonkragaanleg, Beaufort-Wes. Die aansoeker beoog om 'n 75MW (megawatt) Fotovoltaïese (PV) sonkragaanleg te ontwikkel, met 'n voetspoor van ongeveer 250ha, op Gedeelte 55 van Plaas 168 Steenrotsfontein en 'n gedeelte van Gedeelte 10 van Plaas 170 Weltevreden, Beaufort-Wes, direk wes van die N12 snelweg (sien aangehegte liggingsplan). Die elektrisiteit wat gegenereer sal word, sal in die nasionale netwerk gevoer word by die bestaande Eskom Droërivier-substasie via n 132 kv transmissielyn van ongeveer 3km (langsaan 'n bestaande Eskom serwituut). Verwante infrastruktuur sluit-in: 'n op-terrein substasie, geboue, toegang en interne paaie, omheining ens. Die prosedures vir n O&OIB proses, in terme van die 2010 Regulasies (R544, R545 & R546) sal vir hierdie projek gevolg word. Die volgende gelyste aktiwiteite is van toepassing: (R544) Aktiwiteit 10(i) - The construction of facilities or infrastructure for the transmission and distribution or electricity (i) outside urban areas or industrial complexes with a capacity of more than 33kV, but less than 275kV. n 132kV oorhoofse transmissielyn vanaf die sonkragaanleg na die Droërivier Substasie. (R544) Aktiwiteit 11(x) & (xi) The construction of buildings, infrastructure or structures covering 50m² or more where such construction occurs within a watercourse or within 32m of a watercourse, measured from the edge of a watercourse. (R544) Aktiwiteit 18(i) The infilling or depositing of any material of more than 5 cubic metres into, or the dredging, excavation, removal or moving of soil, sand, shell grit, pebbles or rock from (i) a watercourse. (R544) Aktiwiteit 22 (i) & (ii) The construction of a road, outside urban areas, (i) with a reserve wider than 13.5m or, (ii) where no reserve exists where the road is wider than 8m. (R545) Aktiwiteit 1 The construction of facilities or infrastructure for the generation of electricity where the electricity output is 20MW or more. Droërivier Sonkragaanleg sal n maksimum van 75MW opwek. (R545) Aktiwiteit 15 Physical alteration of undeveloped, vacant or derelict land to (ii) residential, retail, commercial, recreational, industrial or institutional use where the total area to be transformed is 20ha or more. Sonkragaanleg van ongeveer 250ha op vakante privaatgrond, buite stedelike gebied van Beaufort Wes. (R546) Aktiwiteit 4(d)(ii) The construction of a road wider than 4m with a reserve less than 13.5m. (R546) Aktiwiteit 12(b) - The clearance of an area of 300m² or more of vegetation where 75% or more of the vegetative cover constitutes indigenous vegetation. (b) With Critical Biodiversity Areas. (R546) Aktiwiteit 16(iii) & (iv)(d)(ii)(ff)(hh) - The construction of (iii) buildings or (iv) infrastructure covering 10m² or more where such construction occurs within a watercourse or within 32m of a watercourse, measured from the edge of a watercourse; (d) in the Western Cape: (ii)outside urban areas (ff) in Critical Biodiversity Areas (hh) within 10km from national parks. (R546) Aktiwiteit 19(d)(ii) - The widening of a road by more than 4 metres or the lengthening of a road by more than 1km; (d) In the Western Cape: (ii) All areas outside urban areas. Konstruksie van paaie. Aansoek vir Kwytskelding is gedoen vir die volgende Regulasie: 10(2)(d) Adverteering van die Omgewing Besluit in 'n koerant. Geregistreerde B&GPe sal direk in kennis gestel word. Aansoek vir Afwyking is gedoen van Regulasie 54(2): R54 (1)(a)(i)&(ii) & R54 (1)(b)(ii)&(iii) As 'n geregistreerde Belanghebbende, word u hiermee in kennis gestel dat die Finale Omvangbepalingsverslag (FOBV) beskikbaar is vir oorsig en kommentaar vir 'n tydperk van 21-dae, wat strek vanaf Vrydag 28 November 2014 tot Woensdag 07 Januarue 2015 (insluitend Desember vakansie).
