What is a Solutions Specification? A solutions specification is a complete schedule of parts required to dress a door to meet a certain requirement. Some parts of a door will be standard across any application but the locking elements and access control components can greatly vary for a variety of reasons. In certain situations you will be required to meet certain standards, either due to a legal obligation (EN179 or EN1125) or to ensure a solution will work as expected and give a good service life (IP and EN performance standards). Other situations require specific hardware to suit the door they are being fitted to e.g. Gates or Data Cabinets. When dealing with these doors there are often many different manufacturers or suppliers for individual components, making specification more complicated and time consuming as you check that everything is compatible and standards compliant. Within this book, we have brought together various different product ranges to provide complete solutions all in one place as Solutions Specifications. The Abloy SMARTair Escutcheon will only allow the handle to operate the lock-case and open the door, when it is shown an authorised credential. High Security Applications Access control solutions utilising high security Abloy Electronic Locks 1 x ABLOY NOVEL Double Euro cylinder override 2 x ABLOY SMARTair Wall Reader. (Read-in, The SMARTair Wall Readers provide read-in, read-out functionality so an authorised credential has to be shown on either side of the door. When the correct credential is shown, the EL520 retracts the bolt allowing the door to be pushed or pulled open. The double cylinder acts as a mechanical override. Page 12 Page 13

(Read-in, Other Internal Applications Solutions for specialist internal door types (e.g. Glass) or specialist functionality (e.g. Automation) The SMARTair Wall Readers provide read-in, read-out functionality so an authorised credential has to be shown on either side of the door. When shown an authorised credential the SMARTair Wall Reader will unlock the effeff 351 allowing the door to be pushed or pulled open. On closing, if the door swings through the frame, the effeff 351U80 will gradually slow it and then grab the door to hold it locked in the correct position. When shown an authorised credential, the Abloy DA460 will trigger the effeff 351 to unlock. Once this is unlocked the DA460 will automatically open the door. The safety sensors help to ensure the door does not hit into anyone that might be behind the door when opening or closing. Page 16 Page 17

The outside handle will only engage and open the door when an authorised credential is shown to the reader. Whenever the door closes, the lock will automatically throw the deadbolt ensuring security. The cylinder will always provide a mechanical over-ride from the outside. As an EN1125 tested solution, the Abloy SMARTair Battery Operated BL560 will always allow egress from the inside by use of the panic bar. The outside handle will only engage and open the door when an authorised credential is shown to the reader. Whenever the door closes, the lock will automatically throw the deadbolt ensuring security. The cylinder will always provide a mechanical over-ride from the outside. Page 20 Page 21

On closing the effeff 351U80 will re-lock and keep the door secure. In normal operation, the effeff 351M.80 keeps the door locked until an authorised credential is shown to the SMARTair Wall Reader. In an emergency, the Escape Door system will unlock the 351M.80 allowing free movement. This solution can be overlayed on an EN179 or EN1125 compliant door to provide one way security in an emergency. Page 22 Page 23
SMARTair Stand Alone What do I need? How it Works 1 The SMARTair Programming Card The simplest version of Abloy SMARTair, Stand Alone gives you the benefits of access control without the hassle. Abloy SMARTair Versions Which version of Abloy SMARTair is right for you? 2 Locking elements for any secure area: - Escutcheons - Cylinders - Wall Readers - Cabinet Locks - Battery Operated Abloy Electric Locks The Programming Card allows you to individually program each locking element through a process of showing the user cards that need access. This allows you to very quickly and easily program your lock. The full range of Locking Elements just need to be installed and programmed using the card to start providing you with access control. 3 User cards / tags for each individual The User cards / tags are shown to the locks with the programming card to set them up. They can also be used as shadow cards to allow you to disable single user cards if needed in the future. Page 24 Page 25

When the system is in use, the software allows you to make changes and view audits. The Locking Elements are programmed using the SMARTair Portable Programmer which transfers your data from the computer software into the locks. The User cards / tags are encoded by the SMARTair Encoder, using the software to choose which user card you are encoding. The updater provides a real-time link into your system. When the system is in use, the software allows you to remotely and instantly make changes, view audits and open doors. The Wireless hubs are connected into your network and link to any locks within a 30m, line of sight, radius. The hubs then constantly update the locks with changes to the system and report back audits. The Locking Elements are programmed using the SMARTair Portable Programmer which transfers your data from the computer software into the locks, after this they are updated through the Wireless connection to the hubs. The User cards / tags are encoded by the SMARTair Encoder, using the software to choose which user card you are encoding. Page 26 Page 27

Abloy Electric Locks Abloy Door Closers effeff Strikes Abloy Electric Locks and effeff Electric Strikes provide high levels of physical protection for any door and can easily be controlled using an ABLOY SMARTair Wall Reader. Any access control solution should use a door closer to ensure the door always closes when not in use so that the access control system is providing the protection required.
