2 Mohamed Yusoff Abbas et al. / Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences 201 ( 2015 ) 1 8 About the Conference The 2nC E BS (S econd National Conference on Environment-Behaviour Studies) officially soft-launched by FAPS, UiTM Dean during 1nC E BS (14-15 November 2009) was renamed ASEAN Conference on Environment-Behaviour Studies (AcE-Bs). AcE-Bs was organized annually by the Centre for Environment-Behaviour Studies, (ce-bs), FAPS, UiTM S hah Alam, in collaboration with ABRA (Association of Behavioural Researchers on Asians) and AMER (A ssociation of M alaysian Environment-Behaviour Researchers) together with ASE AN aje -B s / ja B s E ditorial Board member s establishment as co-host. P rior to 2014, venues for AcE -Bs were in A S E A N countries as determined by the co-host. D ue to the limited feasible venues, commencing 2014, AcE -Bs shall be organised in any Asian countries. As such the conference had been renamed Asian Conference on Environment-Behaviour Studies (AcE-Bs), and shall be fully organized by AMER. AcE-Bs conference themes address E nvironment-b ehaviour issues which particularly affect the A sian region. P apers from other regions are also most welcome if those are suited to the theme of the conferences. S elected papers for the proceedings shall be published in E lsevier's Procedia Social and Behavioural Sciences freely accessible at www.s ciencedirect.com. Further selection of the best papers, condensed, shall be published in the double-blind peer review international journals - aje-bs (Asian J ournal of E nvironment-behaviour S tudies) and jabs (J ournal of AS IAN Behavioural S tudies). AcE-Bs2015Tehran, Iran "Human Oriented Design: Urban and rural development" With the emergence of new technologies in various aspects of daily life and consequently, major changes in people s life style from view point of human behavior, their needs and demands have also been developed. On the other hand, in modern and developed societies, cities as places for living and settlement are highly expected to address most of the human physiological and psychological needs. Therefore, there will be no doubt about the prominent place and the great importance of human being in all sorts of planning, designing and habitation across urban spaces and in particular environment in urban and rural context. 8 Mohamed Yusoff Abbas et al. / Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences 201 ( 2015 ) 1 8 Foreword AcE-Bs2015Tehran with the "Human Oriented Design: Urban and Rural development" as the main theme managed to attract an overall total of 96 numbers of approved abstracts T hose finally transformed into 45 approved full papers for this P roceeding. O nly two countries, namely Iran and M alaysia contributed the final approved full papers. The breakdown of the papers approved being 64% from Iran, whiles the remaining 16% from the latter. The full papers approved were simply grouped generally under 11 subcategories, although quite a number could have been easily placed under more than one category.
