COMPANY HISTORY Bassman Blaine has evolved into a company with a unique business model that enables us to provide unparalleled value. In 1984, we began our journey in the wholesale end of the furniture industry throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. In 1990, we opened our first To-the-Trade showroom in San Francisco and have since added wholesale showrooms in Los Angeles and Orange County. In 1999, we expanded yet again and opened the first of our retail furniture stores. In 2008, we began offering comprehensive interior design services. Today, we are very much a multi-faceted home furnishings company. The unique blend of our wholesale and retail businesses provide us with a well-rounded perspective, while our ability to purchase at bottom wholesale provides our clients with exceptional value. CORONA DEL MAR, CA MARCH 2017 A gorgeous, newly constructed fourbedroom, four-and-a-half bath residence in Corona Del Mar, CA. With dramatic ocean, canyon and golf course views, we worked with the builder to design and furnish this coastal-chic home. Our design aesthetic plays on the clean, modern, and cool-hued vibes of this beach town.

IRVINE, CA JUNE 2017 We designed this brand-new home in Irvine, CA with blush tones and metallic accents, creating a romantic and feminine space. The third bedroom was transformed into a walk-in closet fit for a queen. The outcome is a perfect, soft-landing bachelorette pad for our jet-setting client.

MONTAGE RESIDENCES, KAPALUA BAY, HI MARCH 2017 For this three-bedroom Residence at Montage Kapalua Bay on Maui, we drew inspiration from the beach culture of the Island. By bringing in lighter finishes, we are mimicking the look of the white sand beaches found throughout the island. The playfulness of the surf and beach culture are showcased in the art and the textures throughout.

CORONA HIGHLANDS, CA MAY 2017 This was our second project of 2017 in the stunning beach town of Corona del Mar, CA. With outstanding ocean views, we designed this soft-contemporary home with fresh naturals and subtle, coastal blues. The open floor plan, lush tropical landscaping, and eclectic furnishings makes this property a timeless California abode.
We first met Ken when we were looking for our vacation home. He gave us a tour of some of the work he d done on Maui and we decided he would be perfect to furnish our vacation home. As we neared the end of the project, I worried that the colors wouldn t go together and the furniture wouldn t be comfortable. We chose everything in the design phase, but often couldn t see it in person. Some of the fabric swatches were small. Would the colors clash? Would we be happy? I worried for nothing. It was so much better than I d dreamed. The colors flow perfectly from room to room; the furniture is very comfortable. The artwork is amazing and all of their little decorative items made our vacation house a home that we can t wait to get back to every time we leave. Their personal touch is everywhere. VENICE, CA OCTOBER 2017 We designed this updated residence in Venice Beach for a returning client, whom we had designed her vacation home on Maui in 2016. This modern home is the ultimate California experience, combining indoor/outdoor living with a luxurious vibe to match the growing sophistication of Silicon Beach. Originally built as a fourbedroom house, we converted three of the bedrooms into a walk-in closet, home gym, and home office to compliment the young couple s busy and jet-setting lifestyle. The grand kitchen opens up to the living room, which features an elongated fireplace. Fleetwood oversized sliding doors open to a salt water pool, spa, outdoor shower, and an Eco-Smart fire pit.
I recently contracted Bassman Blaine Home to furnish a very highend vacation rental that I own on Maui. After meeting with other designers, I found Ken Bassman, Bill Blaine and their staff to be the most engaged in my project. They really listened to me in order to get an idea of my design tastes, and then fulfilled those desires with a complete furnishings package in the limited time-frame they were allotted. The unit that I furnished was new construction, and came with all of the issues that are typical to new construction. Ken Bassman was a pleasure to work with, especially under those stressful conditions. He essentially removed that stress from my life by taking over the project, updating me periodically, and assuring me that everything would be completed on time. When I was faced with unexpected construction delays, Bassman Blaine Home took care of things for me, arranging for delayed transport, storage, etc, all while minimizing any additional costs related to the delays. From a design perspective, I could not have been happier with the furnishings that Bassman Blaine Home put together for my unit. The products are high quality, durable, luxurious, and comfortable. The colors all work together, and the finished product is just beautiful. My unit has been rented often, and all the guests have commented about how much they enjoyed staying there. I especially appreciated the upfront and honest way that they do business; Ken Bassman was reliable and true to his word. In the end, my home was furnished on time, within budget, and in beautiful condition. Bassman Blaine Home has truly earned my respect and my recommendation. NEWPORT BEACH, CA NOVEMBER 2017 Located on one of Newport s most coveted oceanfront locations, this residence raises the bar for coastal style and architecture. The functional floor plan lends a nod to its oceanfront location by having open spaces that flow outwardly to capture the full ocean views. Highlights on the main level are the living room with soaring ceilings and doors that open to the comfortable patio with direct beach access. Two bedrooms are located on the main level and can be closed off as a private suite, while the second level comprises two secondary bedrooms, a light-filled hall bath, and an incredible master suite with a large sundeck and amazing views of the coastline and Catalina Island. The end result of this awesome weekend retreat is a comfortable and relaxed home and a great place to enjoy and entertain.
I began talking with Bassman Blaine Home in early 2015, but things really got rolling in the beginning of 2016. Ken and the designers were very patient; they had to deal with plans that were being changed constantly, the firing of my general contractor, and the never-ending delays that are typical with a project of the size and scope that mine was. My project was a virtual tear down and was built back up from scratch. What I have now is a beautiful home - one that I hope to enjoy with my family for many years to come. The designers took the lead on selecting everything you can possibly imagine for the house, from cabinets, to appliances, to paint, to lighting fixtures, furniture, flooring, and all the knick-knacks that make a house feel more like a home. The best result you can hope for is to have your friends and family s jaws hit the floor the first time they see what you ve done, and that s exactly what happened in my case during our reveal. MAKENA, HI OCTOBER 2016 - MARCH 2017 Our design firm had the opportunity to design the four newly built residences of Makena Sunset overlooking Makena Bay on Maui. These homes are each unique and the finished product is spectacular. They are designed and decorated to reflect the contemporary and luxurious lifestyle of South Maui and offer a wonderful retreat for a discerning clientele.
When we bought our house on Maui we asked our broker to recommend someone to help us furnish and decorate our new home. He referred us, without hesitation, to Ken Bassman and it quickly became a seamless process. We had an initial phone call with Ken in which we discussed our likes and dislikes as well as our intended use and feel of the house. Ken and team proposed a design plan and selections that made a potentially tedious process actually exciting and enjoyable. The designers, (with Ken no doubt behind the scenes), nailed our wishes in virtually everything in the house! The whole team was an absolute delight to work with.
When we walked into our house to see the completed project for the first time, we were nearly in tears it was so perfect! ZALANTA RESIDENCES LAKE TAHOE, CA JULY 2017 This gorgeous getaway is in one of South Lake Tahoe s first whole-ownership luxury condominium developments in over 30 years.
