2 Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator TITUS Application

lntroduction This document explains Metasys Integrator TITUS applications. Use this document with the Metasys Integrator technical bulletins in the Metasys Connectivity Technical Manual (FAN 629.5), which provides information on installing and commissioning the Metasys Integrator unit. For information on TITUS equipment, see TITUS documentation (obtainable from a TITUS representative). Note: If you use a Universal Packaging Module (UPM) enclosure, you must install the Metasys Integrator Series 300 in a two high enclosure (EN-EWC25-0) rather than a one high enclosure (EN-EWC13-0), as shown in the figures in this application note. Application Details The Metasys Integrator unit allows TITUS 4015, 8010, 8015, and 8710 Variable Air Volume (VAV), Dual-duct, and Fan Powered Controllers to become an integral part of the Metasys and Metasys Companion Networks. Once the TITUS System Interface and Network Coordinator (SINC/1-1000 or SINC/1-1030) are connected to a Metasys or Companion Network via the Metasys Integrator unit, each of the 4015, 8010, 8015 and 8710 VAV, Dual-duct, Fan Powered Controllers, and Zcom Controllers can be accessed by the full complement of Metasys Building Automation System (BAS) features, including Change-of-State (COS) monitoring, alarm notification, scheduling, trend, and totalization. The SINC device connects to the Metasys Integrator unit through the RS-232 port. Once connected, it is the interface between TITUS equipment and non-titus devices (such as the Metasys Integrator unit). Each Metasys Integrator vendor port can connect to one SINC device. Each SINC device can connect up to 32 VAV, dual-duct, fan powered controllers, or Zcom controllers. Any Metasys Integrator unit supported SINC controllers (including TITUS, Nesbitt, and ASI) can be on the same vendor port. The controllers are connected in a daisy-chain configuration. Figure 1 shows TITUS and Metasys integration, and Figure 2 shows TITUS and Metasys Companion integration. Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator TITUS Application 3

Component Requirements Metasys Release Requirements To integrate TITUS equipment, you need: TITUS SINC/1-1000 System Interface and Network Coordinator (TITUS SINC/1-1030 for Zcom) TITUS 4015, 8010, 8015, and 8710 VAV, Dual-duct, and Fan Powered Controllers or TITUS Zcom Controllers RS-232 cable for connecting the SINC device to the Metasys Integrator unit 2-wire, half-duplex, balanced RS-485 cable (for connecting the SINC device to 4015, 8010, 8015, and 8710 VAV, Dual-duct, and Fan Powered Controllers if the devices are not already networked) Metasys Integrator unit N2 Bus (for connecting the Metasys Integrator unit to the Metasys or Companion Network) portable PC for downloading vendor communication tables (.VCT files) and network setup information into the Metasys Integrator unit, and for running diagnostics cable for connecting portable PC to the Metasys Integrator unit the correct vendor communication table (.VCT file) to download into the Metasys Integrator unit (supplied on the CD-ROM) This document describes the RS-232 cable and the vendor communication tables. TITUS documentation describes their equipment. The remaining components are described in the Metasys Integrator technical bulletins in the Metasys Connectivity Technical Manual (FAN 629.5). To integrate TITUS equipment into the Metasys Network, you need: Metasys Operator Workstation (OWS) software Release 6.0 or higher Metasys Integrator software/firmware Release 9.0 or higher Metasys To integrate TITUS equipment into the Metasys Companion Network, Companion you need: Release Requirements Metasys Companion Release 5.0 or higher Metasys Integrator software/firmware Release 9.0 or higher Vendor Component Requirements Integration between the Metasys Integrator unit and TITUS has been tested with the equipment listed in Table 1. Changes to this equipment or integration of TITUS products not discussed in this document require additional software development and testing by Systems Products. For information on integrating other products, refer to the Custom Integration section in this document. 6 Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator TITUS Application

(The TITUS representative is responsible for operation of TITUS equipment.) Make sure 8015 Controllers using Firmware Rev. 150F and Zcom Controllers using Firmware Rev. 1.3 have the baud rate set to 9600 baud (if the only type of controller on the SINC network). All other supported controllers should have the baud rate set to 1200. If you mix versions, make sure that the baud rate is set to that of the controller with the lowest baud rate. All controllers on a SINC network must be set to the same baud rate. (The TITUS representative is responsible for setting the controller s baud rate.) RS-232 cable distance between the Metasys Integrator unit and the SINC device can be a maximum of 50 feet. Cable distance between the SINC device and the last controller can be a maximum of 10,000 feet (for 16 controllers or less). For more than 16 controllers (from 17 to 32), the maximum distance is 4,000 feet. Disconnect the Metasys Integrator unit while controllers are commissioned. Metasys Integrator Setup To set up the Metasys Integrator unit, use a portable PC connected to the Metasys Integrator Terminal Port. Metasys Integrator setup involves: downloading the correct vendor communication table (.VCT file) setting up the ports assigning network addresses to the controllers The following table provides setup information specific to TITUS applications. For detailed procedures, see the Metasys Integrator technical bulletins in the Metasys Connectivity Technical Manual (FAN 629.5). Point Mapping Tables TITUS 8015 (Rev. 150F with Schedules) VAV, Dual-duct, and Fan Powered Controllers To get the hardware reference for mapping points to CS object attributes (via the software model), combine the NPT (Network Point Type) and NPA (Network Point Address). For example, the hardware reference point for Primary Airflow is 6. Table 3 shows the points available for mapping in the TITUS 8015 (Firmware Rev. 150F with Schedules) VAV, Dual-duct, and Fan Powered Controller. Note: All points except 1 write to the controller s EEPROM. Points 7, 8, 10-14, 17, 18, 21, and 22 also write to the controller s EEPROM. Care should be taken to limit the number of writes to these points. Table 3 is also available without points 26 to 105 to use the TITUS 8015 Firmware Rev. 150F without schedules. Custom Integration For information on integrating products which are not discussed in this document, first refer to the Metasys Compatible Global Catalog, an online list of released Connectivity products. If this list does not provide the information you require, consider using the System Integration Project Data Sheet to request a custom contract from the System Integration Team. Both the Metasys Compatible Global Catalog and the System Integration Project Data Sheet can be accessed from The Advisor by performing the following steps: 1. Click on the Systems Products button located on the left side of The Advisor home page. 2. Click on the Product Literature link. 3. Click on the Manuals-FANS link. 4. Click on the 629.0 Metasys Connectivity Sales Resource Manual link. 5. Find the System Integration Project Data Sheet link in the Table of Contents. Click on this link to view an online copy of the System Integration Project Data Sheet, or click on the Metasys Compatible Global Catalog link below it to view a list of released Connectivity products. The System Integration Project Data Sheet (LIT-6290052) can also be found in the Metasys Connectivity Sales Resource Manual (FAN 629).
