GEAR DRYING CABINET SAFETY Your safety and the safety of others are very important. We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey all safety messages.. This is the safety alert symbol. This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others. All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word DANGER or WARNING. You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't immediately follow instructions. 4

Tip Over Hazard Drying cabinet is top heavy and tips easily when not completely installed. Use two or more people to move and install drying cabinet. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or cuts. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using the drying cabinet, follow basic precautions including the following: Read all instructions before using PPE gear dryer cabinet. Do not place items exposed to cooking oils in your drying cabinet. Items contaminated with cooking oils may contribute to a chemical relation that could that could cause a load to catch fire. Do not dry articles that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, drycleaning solvents, other flammable or explosive substances as they give off vapors that could ignite or explode. Do not allow children to play on or in the drying cabinet. Close supervision of children is necessary when the drying cabinet is used near children. Before the drying cabinet is removed from service or discarded, remove the door to the drying compartment. Do not install or store the drying cabinet where it will be exposed to the weather. Do not repair or replace any part of the drying cabinet or attempt any servicing unless specifically recommended in this Use and Care Guide or in published user repair instructions that you understand and have the skills to carry out. Do not use heat to dry articles containing foam rubber or similarly textured rubberlike materials. Keep area around the exhaust opening and adjacent surrounding areas free from the accumulation of lint, dust, and dirt. The interior of the drying cabinet and exhaust vent should be cleaned periodically by qualified service personnel. Do not tamper with controls. See installation instructions for grounding. 5

Starting Your Gear Drying Cabinet The gear drying cabinet is used for flat or hang drying. The following is a guide to starting your drying cabinet. Please refer to specific sections of this manual for more detailed information. Place PPE Gear in drying cabinet then close the door. See Loading Select the correct temperature setting and drying time for your load. See Cycles. Press the low setting (105 degrees NFPA standards for drying PPE Gear) on the time display to select a drying time up to 10 hours. Press Start button to begin cycle. Do not overload the drying cabinet. To prevent dye transfer, allow extra spacing between non-colorfast items. Standard loads consists of: 2 sets of PPE turnout gear Boots are recommended to be placed on bottom of drying cabinet Airflow inside of drying cabinet Stopping, Pausing or Restarting the Drying Cabinet To stop your drying cabinet at any time. -Press STOP To pause your drying cabinet at any time. -Open door To restart your drying cabinet: Close the door and press the START button. The drying cabinet will continue from the point when the cycle was interrupted. Loading The drying cabinet contains 2 removable tray shelves with a removable and adjustable ROD. The ROD is best used at the top in the middle of the cabinet where two parallel slots are opposite of each other. Place ROD in between slots with stainless steel heavy duty hangers on ROD for best and efficient drying for PPE turnout gear. Remove the 2 lower tray shelves to allow longer items to be dried. Hang gloves, hats, scarves or other small flat items on the racks located on the door or on tray shelves. Drying tips: Follow the care label directions when they are available. Do not place fabric softener sheets in the drying cabinet Remove items from drying cabinet when items are dry 7

Gear Drying Cabinet Care Cleaning the drying cabinet Clean the walls with mild, soapy solution and a damp cloth. Vacation and Moving Care -Operate your drying cabinet only when supervised. If you will be on vacation or not using your drying cabinet for an extended period of time you should: Unplug drying cabinet Moving Care Use masking tape to secure the drying cabinet door TROUBLESHOOTING First try the solutions suggested here and possibly avoid the cost of a service call PPE GEAR NOT DRYING PROPERLY Check the following: -Has a house fuse blown, or a house circuit breaker tripped? Has an air cycle been selected? Select the right cycle for the types of garments being dried. SEE Cycles Is the drying cabinet located in a room with temperature below 32 F (0 C)? -Proper operation of drying cabinet cycles requires temperatures above 32 F (0 C). Was a cold rinse water used? Was the load very wet? Expect longer drying times with items rinsed in cold water and items that hold moisture (cottons). Is the PPE gear loaded properly? -See Loading Is the heat loading setting too low? -Check for correct heat setting for the type of garments being dried. Is the venting too long? -Use heavy metal vent no longer than 3 ft. (91.4 cm). Drying Cabinet will not run check the following: Is the power cord plugged in? Has a fuse blown, or has the circuit breaker tripped? Was regular fuse used? Use a time delay fuse. Is the drying cabinet door firmly closed? Was the START button firmly pressed? Has the SETTINGS button been set? 8

Installation of Cabinet After placing the drying cabinet in location, securing and mounting drying cabinet to the wall is optional. There are two mounting holes located at the top rear of the cabinet. Failure to do this may allow inadvertent tipping of the dryer. Installation of Exhaust The drying cabinet is designed to not require outside venting unless installed in an enclosed space. To attach a vent, bend the 8 tabs located on the top of the cabinet up 90 to allow attaching 4 metal exhaust vent. Secure the exhaust vent to the metal tabs through the 4 holes provided in the tabs. READY RACK GEAR DRYING CABINET WARRANTY ONE YEAR FULL WARRANTY For one year from the date of purchase, when this drying cabinet is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Ready Rack replacement parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a Ready Rack. designated service company. Ready Rack, Inc. will not pay for: Service calls to correct the installation of your drying cabinet, including venting. Heavy 4 in. (10.2 cm) metal exhaust vent must be used. Refer to the "Installation" section of your Installation Instructions. Service calls to instruct you how to use your drying cabinet, to replace house fuses or correct house wir-ing or reset circuit breakers, or to replace owner accessible light bulbs. Repairs when your drying cabinet is used in other than normal, single-family household use. Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, floods, acts of God, improper installation (including, but not limited to, venting with plastic or flexible foil), installation not in accordance with local electrical and plumbing codes, or use of products not approved by Ready Rack. Replacement parts or repair labor costs for units operated outside the United States. Pickup and delivery. This product is designed to be repaired in the home. Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance. Ready Rack SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
