BMC Software PROJECT 270m² of digital wallpaper 400m² of etch and bespoke designed window manifestations 40m² of clear etch 5 Kinds of bespoke designed perspex desk and office signs totaling 410 signs 42 Bespoke designed perspex wipe board kit holders And much more all fitted on site, on schedule and within budget. 360 were commissioned to manage the internal graphics and sign elements for this prestigious new office for BMC Software in the Winnersh Triangle development. As well as the production and installation of a vast array of branding solutions we were heavily involved in the 3D design and bespoke production of all aspects of the graphic design requirement The main objectives of the brief were to ensure consistency, simplicity, a prestigious feel to all elements and to ensure all were strictly in line with brand guidelines With the studio working tirelessly into the early hours, printers on overtime and installers having to relocate to Reading, the entire project came together in order to acheive the tight deadline for completion. We have broken down the main elements into separate sections against the relevant photographs, as each has a story to tell. We hope you enjoy browsing through this as much as we enjoyed being a part of this fabulous project.
Door and office Manifestations: The manifestations to all the glazing of the meeting rooms and offices were produced using frosted vinyl to the reverse of the glass to obscure vision with a triangular detail applied to the front of the glass. It was crucial that these ran level and that the pattern remained consistent and continuous throughout the building. A vision triangle was cut to allow staff to peep through to see if the room is being used and acrylic signage was designed and applied within a designated area within the pattern. Access 360 took the BMC branding and created a bespoke design master template to run throughout the building ensuring each section of window created a unique, interesting and eye catching design in keeping with the overall brand
Window Manifestations Manifestations for the glass doors were produced by taking a section of the main manifestations and adapting this creating a consistent and interesting detail to what is usually just a health and safety requirement.
Wallpaper BMC held a competition and staff were invited to submit their own photographs taken in England for consideration. The thirty shortlisted entries were printed on to smooth digital wallpaper having undergone rigorous studio work to ensure optimum quality could be achieved. Images were used throughout the building to add colour and interest, and to give a personal satisfaction to the staff who submitted them.

Dry wipe boards Taking the brand pattern of triangles used throughout the manifestations, Access 360 adapted this to run continuously over dibond panels applied to every meeting room and office to be used as dry wipe boards. We also produced a magnetised dry wipe version. Access 360 designed and manufactured an acrylic holder to take the pens and accessories for these which were fitted to the pattern detail at the end of each board.
Office and desk signs Access 360 designed a suite of internal signs. These consisted of office signs, information signs, hot desk signs designed to fit to the desks on a J section. They were manufactured from clear polished acrylic with a white framework applied and were designed for ease of use by using a magnetic system.

OSC, Vend & Emotive word sections: Access 360 designed graphics for these areas which were then produced on digital wallpaper. The idea was to keep a consistency in terms of the underlying brands triangular theme but to give clear zone definition. These were used to give a green message in the printing and photocopying areas, to give a warm feeling to the vending areas and to give motivational messages in the group discussion area.

Optically clear printed vinyl Optically clear images were applied to the main visitors reception area and to the staff link area. It was important that the images were viewable but at the same time gave a stain glass effect. A large cityscape image was put together for the visitors area, and sporting images for the staff link area which is a fabulous area for staff to relax, eat and socialise in.
The Link Area This is a great area where staff can meet to eat, chat and play pool/table football and watch TV, will they ever get any work done! As well as the digital photo-board and optically clear images mentioned previously, Access 360 also designed and produced the internally illuminated link sign and some sporting silhouettes.
Reception Desk signage These were produced as acrylic letters sprayed to match the BMC pantone reference. Map Access 360 produced a map of the world showing each of the BMC offices globally illustrated as red triangles. In fact the whole map was comprised of over 3000 frosted vinyl triangles applied to the reverse of 3m x 2m clear acrylic. The key is that this map can be updated as new offices are opened or if locations change.
Digital photo board BMC was looking for a staff board where members of staff could pin up their own photos and where they could display photographs of the 240 members of staff. The idea was to also use this for social purposes and to add a sense of fun and community within the link area. Access 360 suggested that digital frames could be used alongside traditional acrylic static frames and produced a design accordingly. The result has been a great success, a floating 4m x 1500mm panel housing 10 digital frames and a range of A size acrylic frames all of which float from the rear panel to varying depths creating a sculpture completely bespoke to BMC.
