The garden is wonderfully peaceful, says Rosemary, and in the spring and summer, when all of the trees are in full leaf, it s incredibly secluded. We have a beautiful conservatory on the front of the house. It faces south, so when the sun is shining it s a lovely place to sit with a good book. Since purchasing the house, the owners have knocked through the old kitchen and scullery to create one, open-plan AGA kitchen and dining area. It s a wonderfully sociable space that has become the real heart of the home. Olveston is a beautiful place to live and caters for most needs. We have a village store and Post Office, a good bakery and a butcher, and we even have a hairdressing salon. The village is also part of a thriving parish that plays host to a variety of clubs and societies, so there s always plenty of activity. Eastcombe House has been a superb family home for the past thirty-five years, but we feel that the time is now right for us to downsize.
