IMPORTANT LEAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THIS UNIT Whirlpool / Chromatherapy / BubbleAir Operating Instructions IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSONS WARNING: Risk of Personal Injury or Drowning. To reduce the risk of accidental injury or drowning, children should not use hydromassage bathtub without adult supervision. Use this unit only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer. Never drop or insert any object into any opening. Do not operate this unit without the guard (cover) over the suction fitting to prevent body and hair entrapment. The unit must be connected only to a supply circuit that is protected by a ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI). Such a GFCI should be provided by the installer and should be tested on a routine basis. To test the GFCI, push the test button. The GFCI should interrupt power. Push the reset button. Power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in this manner, the GFCI is defective. If the GFCI interrupts power without the test button being pushed there is a ground current flowing, indicating the possibility of an electric shock. DO NOT USE THIS HYDROMASSAGE BATHTUB. Disconnect the hydromassage bathtub and have the problem corrected by a qualified service representative before using. To avoid injury, exercise care when entering or leaving the whirlpool/bubbleair bathtub. 1

Do not use drugs or alcohol before or during the use of a whirlpool/bubbleair bathtub equipped with a heater to avoid unconsciousness and possible drowning. Risk of fetal injury. Pregnant or possibly pregnant women should consult a physician before using a whirlpool/bubbleair bathtub equipped with a heater. A green coloured grounding terminal is provided in the field wiring compartment. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this terminal must be connected to the grounding means provided in the electric supply panel with a conductor equivalent in size to the circuit conductors supplying this equipment. WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock or Fire. Do not permit electric appliances (such as a hair dryer, lamp, radio, television, or phone) within 5 (1.5m) of this whirlpool/bubbleair bathtub. Keep a clear space around the pump to prevent overheating. WARNING: Risk of Hyperthermia and Possible Drowning. Water Temperature in excess of 38 C (104 F) may be injurious to your health. Check and adjust water temperature before use. People using medications and/or having an adverse medical history should consult a physician before using a whirlpool/bubbleair bathtub equipped with a heater. Prolonged immersion in water hotter than normal body temperature may induce hyperthermia. Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6F (37C). The symptoms of hyperthermia include an increase in the internal temperature of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting. The effects of hyperthermia include: (a) failure to perceive heat, (b) failure to recognize the need to exit the bath, (c) unawareness of impending hazard, (d) fetal damage in pregnant women, (e) physical inability to exit the bath, and (f) unconsciousness resulting in the danger of drowning Do not use a whirlpool/bubbleair bathtub equipped with a heater immediately following strenuous exercise. Warning The use of alcohol, drugs or medication can greatly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia. WHIRLPOOL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: Do not run the pump without filling the tub to a level covering all the jet fittings. Do not activate the pump when the system is dry, as damage to the pump seals may occur. THIS IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. Ensure that all adjustable eye-ball fittings are directed downwards. If this is not done, water will be sprayed out of the tub. 2

Each jet can be adjusted individually, to control the whirlpool action. To increase air and water, rotate the trim ring counter-clockwise. To reduce air and water, turn it clockwise. Do not tamper with any of the user-operated components. HYDROLUX Whirlpools are designed for fill and drain use, and should be drained immediately after each use. All units have either an air-operated pushbutton or a keypad on the tub. If unit is equipped with a pushbutton, this pushbutton will allow the on/off action of the whirlpool to be controlled while in the tub. When pushed sharply, it will turn the whirlpool pump on; a second push will turn the pump off. (Note: if pushed too slowly, the button may not activate the switch in the pump motor. If this happens, push again.) VARIABLE SPEED WHIRLPOOL WITH KEYPAD OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The 1st button turns the unit on and off. The 2 nd and 3 rd buttons increases and decreased the pump speed. The 4 th button varies the pulsation modes. The first press will vary the speed gradually from maximum to minimum. The second press will go directly to minimum and then straight back to maximum. USER CARE & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: WHIRLPOOL/BUBBLEAIR SYSTEM SHOULD BE PURGED REGULARLY. TWICE A MONTH IS PREFERRED, DEPENDING UPON USAGE. (DO NOT EXEED 90 DAYS) The following procedure is suggested: 1. Fill the tub with hot water only to 1 above the jets or air holes. 2. Add 2 teaspoons of low-foaming dishwasher detergent such as Cascade or Calgonite. 3. Run whirlpool models for 10-15 minutes. 4. Run BubbleAir models for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this run cycle several times with a soak interval between cycles. 4

5. Drain completely. 6. Flush system by filling with cold water only. 7. Run for 5-10 minutes. 8. Drain completely. Keep small objects such as bath toys and bathing accessories out of the whirlpool/bubbleair while the unit is running. Repeated use of personal care products containing oils can damage plastic whirlpool components. Do not use heavy, vegetable-based shampoos or bath oils. Whirlpool/BubbleAir hydro-massage action can cause a small amount of bubble-bath, bath soap, shampoo, or bath oil to foam excessively. For this reason, please don t use these products during whirlpool/bubbleair operation. WHIRLPOOL TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE SYMPTOMS PROBABLE CAUSES RECOMMENDED ACTION Whirlpool will not start/stop. No Power to Pump Remove the access panel and press the air switch. If you do not hear a click, the air switch tubing is pinched or kinked. Verify pump is plugged in and the GFCI/ELCB is not tripped. Verify the outlet has power using a multimeter or by connecting a 110V item that you know is working (lamp, radio, etc.) into the outlet. Repair as needed. Check if the air switch tubing is connected at both the receiver/pump end and the air switch. Reconnect if needed. Air switch tubing is pinched or kinked. Adjust tubing to clear the pinched/kinked area. If the pinch/kink cannot be fixed, or no noticeable pinch/kink is apparent, puncture the tubing with a tack and try the system again. The motor starts but not all jet functions. Jets are closed. Rotate the jet trim ring counterclockwise to open/increase flow to the jets. All Other Servicing Should Be Performed By A Qualified Service Representative. 5
