Festival of Open Gardens May - September 2014 Over 30,000 raised in 4 years Following the success of our previous Garden Festivals, please join us again to enjoy our supporters wonderful gardens. Delicious home-made refreshments and the hospice stall will be at selected gardens. We are delighted to have 34 unique and interesting gardens opening this year, including our hospice gardens in Adderbury. All funds donated will benefit hospice care. Bloxham Open Gardens Saturday 7 June, 2pm - 6pm Entrance 5 to all gardens. Bloxham lies 3 miles south-west of Banbury on the A361. The gardens will be signposted and maps available at each garden. An eclectic and diverse selection of gardens in the beautiful ironstone village of Bloxham. The gardens vary from a small cottage garden packed with interest to a large landscaped plot, most of which have never opened to the public before. Teas, plant stall, hospice stall. A wonderful group of eight eclectic gardens. The gardens range from water gardens, courtyard gardens, cottage style and contemporary designed gardens. Come and relax in the gazebos, enjoy the ponds and marvel at the designer gardens and then relax with a cup of tea and a healthy slice of home-made cake. Sunday 13 July, 2pm - 6pm, Entrance 5, children free Ablington Manor, Bibury, Cirencester GL7 5NY Ablington is situated off the B4425 Cirencester to Burford. The manor house is approached through iron gates by the stone road bridge over the river Coln. By kind permission of Robert and Prudence Cooper Ablington Manor is a grade 1 16 th Century manor house with a 4 acre garden through which the River Coln runs. There are herbaceous borders, a small walled garden with rose pergolas, big lawn, woodland garden, small meadow arboretum, two gazebos for tea and unusual yew topiaries. The present owners have lived in the house for forty years. The front garden is a wildflower meadow, vegetables are grown in recycled and upcycled pots on the front drive. Majority of plants are grown from seed, cuttings and division and there are always plants for sale. Dogs on leads and children welcome.
