The PDHW features a factory-certified Kubota engine, proving to be the most reliable skid-mounted pressure washer on the market. LANDA s PDHW is a diesel-powered, hot water pressure washer that combines the versatility of a compact size with the ruggedness and cleaning power of a full-skid pressure washer. The PDHW delivers cleaning power of 3,500 PSI with a flow rate of 4.7 GPM. The PDHW is packed with: Quality: Powered by a reliable Kubota electric-start engine, the PDHW features a top-of-the-line, oil-bath, tri-plunger, belt-drive LANDA LT pump with 7-year warranty. The heating coil is made of 1/2-inch Schedule 80 cold-rolled pipe with a stainless steel outer top wrap. The sturdy steel frame gets all-weather protection from a polyester powder coat finish or stainless steel. Versatility: A 2,900 watt generator (on 120V burner models) provides power for the burner as well as a 120V outlet for low-wattage applications. LANDA LT Pump Feature: Heavy duty, 3-piston (triplex), highpressure LANDA LT Pump, rated at 3,500 PSI, and 185 F with die-cast aluminum crankcase, forged brass head, highquality Parker U-seals, hydrolysis-resistant valves, aluminum-zinc alloy cast connecting rods with oil reservoir indentation and lubricating hole; tapered roller bearings and copper plated piston guides. LANDA pumps are backed by a 7-year warranty. Benefit: Reliability is key when moving parts are involved, and nothing sees as much action as the high-pressure pump. Burner Feature: Water is heated using a diesel fired 120V burner on AC units and a 12V burner on DC units. Both utilize advanced solid-state ignition technology and Suntec fuel pumps. Benefit: All burners come with the Suntec fuel pump which uses a solenoid valve (rather than the conventional diaphragm and cone valves) to open and close instantly when electrical current to the pump turns on and off. This fraction-of-a-second timing difference renders huge benefits in a cleaner, including a more fuel-efficient burn and less maintenance. The burners are equipped with a solidstate igniter for hotter ignition and less power consumption. 5. Generator Feature: Large capacity 2,900 watt Voltmaster generator provides 120 VAC of reliable power to the burner assembly and auxiliary electrical receptacle. 8. Heating Coil Benefit: This generator supplies more than enough power for use by the 1,000 watt burner and therefore leaves plenty of power to operate lights, small hand tools, and other 120 VAC electrical accessories. 6. Steel Frame Feature: A rugged, structurally-welded steel frame and panels surround the PDHW s engine, pump and generator. Polyester powder coating protects all metal parts for maximum corrosion resistance. Benefit: The fabricated frame provides protection from damage while in transit, as well as protection from being bumped while on the job site. The strength and durability of the frame is the result of a precision laser cut interlocking joints and hole patterns. The polyester powder coat is baked into the metal, providing all-weather protection. The frame is backed by a LANDA 7-year warranty. 7. Vibration Isolators Feature: The engine, pump and generator, components that create the most vibration in a pressure washer, rest on a 3/16 thick steel power platform attached to the steel chassis by six 150 lb. vibration isolators. Feature: The LANDA Duracoil with signature duck bill top wrap used for heating the water is made of cold-rolled schedule 80 pipe with integrated quarter-inch steel rods. It is surrounded by a 1-inch blanket of ceramic fiber insulation, an aluminized steel wrap, a stainless steel outer top wrap, and a painted steel bottom wrap. The coil is backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Benefit: The PDHW s coil-bottom wrap gently cradles the heating coil, while the coil-top wrap provides superb corrosion protection and provides additional weather protection for the end-mounted diesel burner. The heating coil delivers a continuous temperature increase of 120 F to 140 F at the flow rate of 4.7 GPM. Cold-rolled pipe has fewer leaks than coils that are heated when formed. Ceramic molded fiber insulation reflects the heat into the coil for energy efficiency, and the aluminized steel wrap withstands heat and corrosion better than regular steel. Aluminized steel is used in automobile mufflers, furnaces, ovens, and gas-fired heaters where there is a high presence of heat and moisture. Studies show that aluminized steel oxidizes at only 5 percent of the rate of carbon steel. Aluminized steel also reflects about 80 percent of incident radiant heat up to 900 F. This makes it ideal for the pressure washer heating coil application. Less fuel is required to maintain the operating temperature and it heats up faster, resulting in decreased expenses and greater profitability. The aluminized steel wrap directs the heat to where it is needed while providing strength. The outer wrap provides an extra layer of protection and heat efficiency while the stainless steel top wrap is easy to remove for convenience in servicing or replacing the coil. Benefit: The vibration isolators provide fatigue resistance by preventing the engine-pump vibration from spreading throughout the pressure washer and shaking loose nuts, bolts, electrical wiring, and burner components. This feature helps minimize maintenance and helps extend the life of the entire pressure washer. Page 4

The PDHW is... Easy to Service 1. Easy Access Feature: The lockable latched door panel on the steel frame design allows for easy access to a variety of engine and pump assembly components. The door panel allows for technicians to check fuel levels, belt tension, belt adjustment, engine oil, pump oil, pump adjustment, fuel filters for the engine and burner, unloader adjustment, and fuel oil drains for the pump and engine. Benefit: The conveniently located door panel of the PDHW makes servicing easy. Components are mounted within the cage for easy monitoring and service access. 2. Burner Access Feature: The horizontal coil design allows for end-mounted burner accessibility. The burner is easily accessible using the latched door panel. 3. Tru-Trac Pump Rail System Feature: Tru-Trac Pump Rail System keeps the belt parallel with pump and motor when adjusting belt tension. Tru-Trac is nested directly underneath the LANDA LT Pump. Benefit: The Tru-Trac Pump Rail System allows for an easy, single bolt adjustment with v- rail for alignment, and just two lockdown bolts. The Tru-Trac simplifies and assures correct pulley and belt alignment. The benefits of this feature include a decrease in belt wear and less labor cost to adjust or change belts. 4. Oil Drain Hoses Feature: Drain hoses with brass plugs lead from the engine and pump crankcases to the front of the unit. Benefit: Conveniently located drain hoses allow oil to be drained from the engine and pump without spilling onto the platform. Benefit: Many manufacturers mount their burners under the coil and frame, making service difficult and less cost effective. However, the PDHW s horizontal coil allows the burner to be mounted at waist level with access from all sides, making burner service fast and easy. From checking the electrodes to adjusting the air settings, the PDHW makes it simpler. Page 5

The PDHW is... Safe to Use 1. Kubota Factory Certified Feature: This unit has been approved by Kubota Factory Certified Personnel to operate in all climates. The Kubota Factory Certification Program includes a variety of tests on air intake, exhaust, fuel boil, and vibration. Benefit: Passing the strict requirements set by the engine manufacturer demonstrates Kubota s confidence in the use of their product in LANDA s machine. 2. Fully paneled Feature: The structure of the PDHW contains four sides of steel, powder coated panels with strategically placed holes for air flow. Benefit: Besides projecting a strong and solid appearance, these panels also prevent users from accidentally reaching in and touching fast-moving parts. 3. Safety Certified Feature: The PDHW meets OSHA requirements and has been certified by ETL laboratories to the rigid UL 1776 safety standards for pressure washers. Benefit: PDHW owners can feel assured that they are investing in equipment that will not only last a long time, but will be safe for them and others to use, minimizing their personal and liability risk. Federal OSHA regulations require safety certified electrical and finger protection equipment. UL-1776 safety standards include: thermal overload protection on motors to prevent risk of fire; all electrical components must undergo a test for current leakage to avoid electrical shortages; high-limit switch to automatically shut down the burner on hot-water models should the water overheat; and a rupture disk to protect against excessive buildup of pressure in the system. 4. Unloader Valve & Flow Switch Feature: The unloader is an adjustable, pressuretrapping valve rated for 4,500 PSI. It s the mechanism that automatically bypasses the pump output when the operator releases the trigger on the gun and stops the flow of water. When the flow is stopped, the unloader senses the buildup of pressure and automatically reroutes the water to the inlet of the pump, thereby reducing the load on the engine and pump. This recycling of the water continues until the trigger is pulled again, signaling the unloader to send the water through the hose again and renew the flow from the water supply. Hot-water models, like the PDHW, also have a flowactivated shut-off switch called a flow switch. When the operator releases the trigger and stops spraying, the fuel to the burner quickly shuts off. The flow switch is much more responsive than the conventional vac-on switch. Benefit: The unloader makes it possible to enjoy the convenience and safety of a trigger gun while cleaning with a pressure washer. The flow-activated shut-off switch prevents the burner from overheating the water when the water flow has been stopped during the washing operation, thus protecting the operator and pressure washer from the consequences of a buildup of both pressure and heat. 5. Rupture Disk Feature: The rupture disk is located at the coil discharge junction and allows water to escape through a relief hose in the case of over pressurization. Benefit: When water is heated, pressure is created. The rupture disk senses when the pressure in the system has exceeded acceptable levels and it will immediately give way, allowing pressure to escape through the relief hose. This protects the operator from a potential hot-water rupture in the plumbing or hose. The rupture disk has been proven to be the most effective protection against pressure buildup, more reliable than pop-off and pressure relief valves in the hot-water environment. Should the rupture disk ever need to release a buildup in pressure, the super heated water is vented through a tube that carries the water and steam to the underside of the PDHW and safely away from the operator. 6. Thermal Pump Protector Feature: The thermal pump protector is attached to the inlet side of the high-pressure pump and monitors the water temperature as it passes through the pump. It opens to dump hot water if the water temperature rises above a safe level. PDHW Applications Benefit: This protects the pump from being damaged by hot water. The water temperature can build up when the water constantly recycles out and back into the pump. This occurs when the operator leaves the pressure washer running for a long period of time without opening the trigger gun to release the water. 7. Universal Labels Feature: Illustrations are used when possible to indicate procedures and warnings for speakers of any language. The labels are printed on Lexan. Benefit: As mandated by UL-1776, this feature provides the owner with some peace of mind, as well as liability protection, knowing that most any operator has instructions and warnings easily available prior to using. The Lexan labels have an additional protective coating capable of withstanding all weather conditions, including UV or sunlight. What does it clean? The PDHW is... Feature Rich 1. Control Panel 3. Adjustable Thermostat Feature: The thermostat regulates the water temperature of the unit. The PDHW includes an adjustable thermostat conveniently located along the control panel. Benefit: The easily accessible thermostat, adjustable up to 200 F, allows the operator to match the temperature to the job and prevent overheating. 4. Hour Meter Feature: All system controls are conveniently placed at the end of the PDHW. The control panel includes a key start, burner switch, adjustable thermostat, hour meter, and AC units feature a GFCI receptacle. Benefit: Electrical controls are located in a rain-tight box for quick access. The adjustable thermostat allows for altering the water temperature to match the user s application. The hour meter displays the engine running hours so that regular maintenance can be performed ensuring peak performance. The low engine oil light and water light warn the user before fluids are depleted from the engine. 2. Engine Key Switch Feature: The Kubota engine is equipped with a keyed ignition switch and shutdown solenoid valve allow users to turn off the engine from the control panel rather than reaching for a shutoff lever on the engine. Benefit: The keyed ignition switch allows the customer to remove the key for safety and security. Feature: The solid-state hour meter, located on the control panel, is both shock and temperature resistant. This hour meter makes it easier to determine when maintenance is required on the engine and pump. Benefit: Knowing the hours of operation provides the user with a reminder of when service is required in order to keep the PDHW s engine and pump operating for years. 5. GFCI Electrical Receptacle Feature: The Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI), located on the control panel, provides a safe and reliable electrical outlet for operating flood lights and small hand tools. The inherent dangers of mixing electricity with water are minimized with a receptacle protected by a ULapproved GFCI. Benefit: Having an electrical outlet at the job site allows the operator to plug in flood lights to keep operating into the night. Page 8

6. High-Pressure Nozzles Feature: Nozzles create the pressure or cleaning power for the pressure washer. Four color-coded, hardened stainless steel, high-pressure nozzles are mounted in the rear adjacent to the high-pressure hose reels. Nozzles attach to the end of the wand with a quick coupler. The colors designate the flow patterns created by each nozzle: Red=0, Yellow=15, Green=25 and White=40. Benefit: The hardened stainless steel ensures the nozzles will hold up well without rusting or disintegrating during months of regular operation. The quick-couple makes switching nozzles quick and easy without the need of additional tools. The distinct colors allow the operator to quickly identify the flow patterns available. Having a variety of flow patterns, from the narrow 0 stream to the broad 40 angle, gives the operator plenty of options to meet whatever cleaning tasks are at hand. 7. Variable Pressure Wand Feature: The variable pressure wand is 42 inches long and consists of two adjoined, insulated tubes. An easy-grip handle on the side of the wand twists to increase or decrease the pressure. When the wand is set to high pressure, water is forced through the main pipe and out through the quick-coupled nozzle at the end of the wand. When it is set to low pressure, water is diverted to the second pipe to reduce the flow volume in the main pipe, thus reducing the pressure of the main water stream. A durable, plastic spray hood is mounted at the end of the wand. Benefit: Having an easy way to manage the spray pressure at the point of the wand makes the job easier for the operator. It also allows for remote control when dispersing detergent when a downstream detergent injector is attached. The wand handle is turned to create a low-pressure flow, which immediately begins drawing in detergent into the spray. With the twist of the handle, clean water comes out again as a high-pressure spray. The wand length prevents an operator from spraying him/herself. The easy-grip handle is mounted at the right angle for hours of fatiguefree spraying. The plastic hood at the tip helps protect the nozzle and objects being cleaned. 8. Shut-Off Gun Feature: The new LANDA L1050 Shut-Off Gun features a precision stainless steel ball and seat with a forged brass valve body encased in a high density heat resistant fiberglass reinforced plastic case. Tuff-Skin Hose Feature: This 50-foot long, half-inch double steel braid LANDA Tuff-Skin Hose is the toughest high-pressure hose in the industry. When tested at 6945/ DIN20024, the Tuff-Skin has proven to be seven times more abrasion resistant than standard pressure washer hoses, yet it is 20 percent more flexible. The Tuff-Skin Hose has a unique braid design and has been engineered for a greater continuous temperature range from 40 to 275 F/310 F intermittently. It can handle pressures of up to 5,800 PSI, has a maximum strength Class A ORS (Oil Resistance Standard) cover, and features a bite-the-wire coupler that grips the hose better than any other design. Benefit: Due to its abrasion resistance and flexibility, the Tuff-Skin Hose holds up better than any other hose in outdoor pressure washer environments where hose typically gets whipped, twisted, yanked around, dragged along the ground, and stretched around objects. The maximum strength Class A cover rating means it will hold up to oils, grease, and fats much better than the more commonly used Class B. Tilt-Out Fuel Tank Feature: The PDHW is equipped with an extra large 22-gallon, powder coated, steel, diesel fuel tank that tilts away from the frame for access to the engine, pump, and generator. Benefit: The steel tank provides strength and years of durability under adverse temperatures from the outdoors. The long run-times between refills allow for more operating time and less time spent running to filling stations. 11. Fuel Water Separator Feature: LANDA s unique capability of fuel water separation protects both the engine and burner from coming in contact with water and contaminants. Small amounts of water inside an engine or burner can damage and shorten the life of the fuel pumps. Benefit: Increasing the life of vital components saves both time and money. The PDHW offers many... Field Kit Options 1. Float Tank with Inlet Injection Option: This float tank is rust-proof and contains a stainless steel inlet filter. It also allows for adjustable application of soap under high pressure. Benefit: The PDHW s float tank option provides a constant flooded-suction water supply to the pump. The float tank is equipped with an industrial designed PVC self-sealing shut-off valve and float ball which meters water into the tank as needed. An integral stainless steel strainer inside the float tank protects the pump by preventing dirt particles from entering the suction line under high pressure. The kit includes a precision metering valve, 10 feet of thick-wall vinyl tubing, and a stainless steel strainer with check valve. 2. Hose Reel Platform Option: The LANDA hose reel is made of powder coated steel and features a lockable, 360 swivel design. It also contains a stainless steel rotor, dual-seal swivel, flip-over hose guide, spring-action pin to prevent slippage when winding in the hose, and an easy-to-engage cam-lever brake. Benefit: Winding hose is easy with the PDHW s 360 pivot hose reel. It eliminates the tangling and hassle of coiling hose and provides easy access for the next job. For convenience, operators can bolt the hose reel mounting bracket onto the frame of the PDHW. Page 10

3. Downstream Detergent Injector Option: A downstream injector and detergent hose attaches easily to the outlet of the pressure washer allowing a variable pressure wand the ability to apply soap while cleaning. The operator has the convenience of on-off control of the detergent at the gun/wand without having to walk back to the machine. Benefit: This heavy-duty injector is constructed with brass and stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. The industrial-duty strainer is made with a nylon cage and stainless steel mesh strainer. The suction tube is made of thick-wall, see-through; clear vinyl tubing for years of constant usage. The injector automatically suctions detergent from the jug at a 15:1 ratio when the operator reduces the pressure by twisting the handle on the variable pressure wand. 4. Lift/Stack Platform & Lifting Sling Option: This option allows users to lift and stack the PDHW using steel cable lifting slings that tie into the turnbuckles of the platform. Benefit: Having the ability to stack these units can free up valuable floor space. The lifting sling allows for safe ship-to-dock movement of the equipment. 5. Stainless Steel Drip Pan Option: This option is designed to attach to the underside of the PDHW and captures potential fluid leaks from the engine or pump. To comply with regulatory guidelines imposed by government agencies, the drip pan meets those conditions. 6. Wheel Kit Option: This kit includes four pneumatic wheels, a steering handle, all mounting hardware, and it easily mounts to the underside of the pressure washer in minutes. Benefit: The PDHW wheel kit provides extra mobility. Whether moving the PDHW around a facility or moving it from job to job, the PDHW wheel kit makes the job simple and easy. 7. Engine Spark Arrestor Option: A spark arrestor equipped engine is required by some government agencies when used in fire prone areas. Benefit: The spark arrestor kit is easily attached to the engine muffler to comply with regulatory guidelines. 8. Emergency Engine Air Shut-Off Option: Coast Guard regulatory guidelines dictate that an air shut valve be equipped on diesel engines to prevent engines from operating in volatile air conditions. Tests have shown that when diesel engines are being operated in offshore activities and an unexpected volatile air is encountered, the engine will continue to operate even when the diesel fuel is shut off to the engine. The volatile air ingested into the engine air intake will keep the engine running and potentially cause a hazardous condition. Benefit: The optional engine air shut-off valve provided on the Kubota engine complies with regulatory guidelines. Benefit: The stainless steel drip pan provides a specially designed containment barrier for the customer to comply with government regulations.
