The east/west orientation means it s flooded with light all day long, making it a joy to spend time here. If you re after a period home but you also want a home that s easy to care for, this one will certainly suit! Town And Country The property was originally two farm workers cottages and opened up into one larger home when it was restored around 20 years ago. Both sets of owners since then have maintained it carefully and each put their own stamp on it, creating a home that s as welcoming as it is stylish. It s the unique setting that first drew the current owners here being adjacent to the common and not overlooked at all. It s a brilliant mix of rural life with easy access to Norwich. We also have pretty towns such as Beccles, Loddon and Bungay close by and we re just ten minutes from Suffolk, with a half hour drive to Southwold, the owners explain. Charming Character Cottage The property also offers a happy blend of the old and the new, with the brilliantly refurbished original cottage seamlessly flowing into the sympathetic modern extension, making this a beautiful and spacious home with a friendly, welcoming feel. We have loved living here, smile the owners. They moved to the cottage from out of the area, so friends and family are always coming to stay for the weekend and the owners love having a houseful. The kitchen is a great social space and the formal dining room sets the scene for long evening suppers, sharing a bottle or two with friends. When home alone, the owners love nothing more than to relax in the garden room, taking in the lovely green view stretching out in both directions. This is also a fabulous house at Christmas: We have family to stay and have comfortably put up nine overnight. There s plenty of room to get together or to spread out and do our own thing. It s wonderful wrapping up for a walk on the green before warming by the wood burner.
Idyllic Country Setting The rear garden here is fully enclosed so it s safe for children and the owners have recently welcomed a puppy into the family, so they have peace of mind knowing he can run around out here without coming to harm. Step out of the front gate and you re on the green, so you can head off for a short stroll or a long hike whatever takes your fancy. The owners have found this a great way to meet people and also enjoy going for runs, heading out for anything from two to ten miles, all off road in beautiful countryside. When it snows, the views are even more picturesque than usual. It s been so good being in the heart of wide open countryside and having a real sense of space and connection to the seasons, while still being a short distance from Norwich. There s no need for a long commute here so the work/life balance is great, explain the owners.
