Wheelie bins and purple bags are collected three-weekly. Please remember when putting your wheelie bin out for collection, the lid must always be fully closed. Rubbish that doesn t fit inside the bin will not be taken. Powys Council no longer give out black sacks. If you often have more recycling than will fit into your containers, you can ask for more recycling boxes. If you can t accommodate a wheelie bin, Powys Council will assess the property and will provide you with a roll of 52 purple sacks instead. This is the same capacity as a standard wheeled bin. Powys Council operate a bulky collection service for larger items, to book a collection phone 0845 6027035 or 01597 827465. They will give you a reference number and offer a collection date, which will normally be within two weeks. There is a charge for this service. You can pay by debit/credit card. If you have fewer than three items to collect you can save money by sharing a collection with a neighbour. Please note a three piece suite is counted as three items (if it consists of a sofa and two chairs). A table and four chairs is counted as five items. Amendments and cancellations: If you want to change or cancel your order you must tell us 48 hours before the planned collection date. If you do not do this, refunds could be affected. Newport Newport Council provide a weekly recycling and fortnightly refuse collection on an allocated day between 7am and 4pm. Blaenau Gwent Blaenau Gwent Council provide a three-weekly black bin/bag collection. They provide a weekly recycling service collection for cardboard, paper, glass, tin and plastics, textiles, batteries and small electrical items using the Trolibocs, loose recycling boxes or hessian bags. They provide a weekly food collection service using the food caddy and bin liners that they provide They provide a green waste collection that runs from April to October each year. Residents must register on a yearly basis to receive this service They will not collect building materials, soil, cement, sand, loose timber or paint. You may be able to take some of these items to your local household waste recycling centre which is located at New Vale Civic Amenity Site, Waun-y-Pound Industrial Estate, Ebbw Vale NP23 6PL Blaenau Gwent Council operates a Bulky Collection Service for larger items of household waste such as furniture and white goods at a cost of 10 for collection for up to 3 items. Extra items are then charged at 3.00 per item. Items must be outside your property at your bin collection point by 7am on the day of collection. Monmouthshire Monmouthshire Council provide a weekly kerbside recycling collection to all households in Monmouthshire using red and purple bags. They also collect food waste weekly using blue food bins. They operate a brown garden waste bag (pay to use) service Household rubbish is collected fortnightly. A maximum of two bags of standard 80L size will be collected. Torfaen Torfaen Borough Council provide a weekly recycling and fortnightly refuse collection on an allocated day between 7am and 4pm.
