DALI Dimming Controls ezdali Fluorescent dimming made simple and affordable

A New Digital Revolution ezdali, Watt Stopper s new digital dimming and scene controls, uses the DALI communications protocol to provide full-featured dimming, with 1% dimming for linear fluorescents and 3% for compact fluorescents. Pushbutton Dimming and Scene Control Comprised of wall-based controllers, a power supply, DALI ballasts, and a communications databus, ezdali provides individual ballastlevel pushbutton dimming and scene control. Users can create specific lighting environments, or scenes, for a variety of common activities, then recall those scenes with the push of a button. Typical ezdali layout Conventional dimming systems ezdali dimming controls simplify wiring requirements while providing greater flexibility compared with conventional fluorescent dimming systems.

Meeting Scene Presentation Scene Reception Scene Use ezdali for simple yet sophisticated scene control in conference rooms. Other ideal settings include lecture halls, classrooms, auditoriums, and offices. Simplicity Conventional fluorescent dimming systems lock users into proprietary systems and rigid hardwiring. Networked DALI systems require PC software and are challenging to commission and manage. ezdali overcomes these complexities. It offers individual-ballast level control that is simple to wire yet flexible, and easy to commission and operate. Unprecedented Flexibility What s more, ezdali can satisfy owners and occupants current needs and easily adapt to tomorrow s needs. When space usage changes, occupants can reset lighting preferences as easily as they do a car stereo. The result is unprecedented control flexibility without costly rewiring or complex computer software. Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) An open communication protocol for lighting devices, DALI provides robust two-way communication between control devices and individual ballasts. With DALI, users can assign ballasts individually to lighting groups and select lighting levels. Lighting groups can be reconfigured when space needs change, without costly rewiring. DALI is a standard accepted by all major ballast manufacturers (such as Tridonic, Advance, Universal, and Osram Sylvania). Users can combine ballasts from multiple sources with confidence in uniform lighting performance.

Dimming with Ease Group & Scene Controller Add multiple "scene" capability to DALI dimming control for greater occupant satisfaction. With scenes, users can recall light level settings in a space to create specific lighting environments. Users will appreciate the smooth transition from "presentation" scenes to "meeting" scenes, all at the touch of a button. Unlike other fluorescent dimming control systems, ezdali is uniquely engineered to be installed and commissioned by any electrical contractor, without the need for software programming or other specialized commissioning tools. Installers easily connect ballast wiring to a DALI communication bus that can be run with fixture load wiring. Easy pushbutton programming at wall-box controllers enables a contractor to assign DALI ballaststo desired lighting groups, such as wallwash, overhead lighting, or accent lighting. Power Supply Provides class 2, low voltage plug-in connections for occupancy sensors and ezdali controllers. 3 800.879.8585 www.wattstopper.com

DALI Ballast Available from numerous manufacturers, such as Tridonic, Advance, Universal, and Osram Sylvania, DALI ballasts provide electronic dimming capability to linear, twin tube, and compact fluorescent lighting. When necessary, maintenance personnel can reconfigure lighting groups or reassign ballasts without rewiring. Then, to create lighting scenes, an occupant simply memorizes a lighting group light level via the pushbuttons on the ezdali wallbox controller. When specific lighting preferences change, any occupant can easily override preset scenes with the press of a button. Remote Scene Switch Provide convenient scene control in conjunction with a Group & Scene Room Controller for simple, one-touch lighting scene changes from multiple locations. Ideal in rooms with multiple entrances or control locations. 800.879.8585 www.wattstopper.com 4

Dimming for Function & Flexibility Many spaces benefit from a range of lighting environments.in these, ezdali allows occupants to exercise greater control over lighting Conference rooms Move seamlessly between meetings, presentations, and teleconferences with the push of a button. Offices Change lighting levels as occupants move from task totask, from reading to computer work, and back again. Classrooms / Lecture halls Customize lighting for films, whiteboard discussions, and testing. ezdali helps set the scene right the first time and every time. While occupants enjoy greater satisfaction and productivity with personal lighting control, facility owners and operators realize a whole host of advantages: reduced initial costs lower energy costs easy adaptability for changing needs scalability for future expansion 5 800.879.8585 www.wattstopper.com

Overhead 1 Computer Overhead 2 Meeting Accent Planning W all Wash Reading ezdali dimming controls enable energy savings for building owners and operators. Interfacing with standard 24 VDC occupancy sensors, ezdali enables occupant-sensitive automated shutoff, including the use of dimmed light levels as an impending shutoff warning. Users can take advantage of features, such as the Max Level setting, to tune light levels for maximum energy savings. Or group specific lights, such as fixtures adjacent to windows, for independent dimming. 800.879.8585 www.wattstopper.com 6
