- Electricity Electricity Gases are heavily used in most laboratories and therefore of utmost importance. The services can be divided in three main sections.; Electrical & Data and Drains Gases The structure of our benches and the Energy Units used in these benches are designed to route all these services safely within the furniture. They also have been designed in such a way that easy access is guaranteed in case of modifications or maintenance. Electricity & Data are widely used throughout a laboratory. The choice of materials and models vary depending on local requirements and/or country specific demands. In our standard program we have material according to IP 44, IP 55 and even Ex-Proof standards. Depending on the country the sockets are also available according to many standards (e.g. DIN, BS, US). The cables used can also be supplied according to different standards. If your project has specific demands let us know and we will try to accommodate you. Electricity IP 44 Earthed IP 44 Data and UPS IP 44 Telephone IP 55 Earthed and UPS IP 55 Earthed and Data Ex-Proof Page 52 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 52 / 102

- Electricity 7 The power sockets used on the benches are generally 3-Phase sockets, Earthed sockets, UPS sockets, Data (LAN) sockets, and Telephone Sockets. These sockets are available in single, double or quadruple models. IP 55 3-Phase IP 44 BS Type Fuse boxes are used for the protection of a local area (e.g. a bench, a fume cupboard). Fuse boxes can be installed in panels on the benches to have the fuses within easy reach. The fuses are connected to the power sockets on the furniture units. IP 44 Fuse Box IP 55 Fuse Box The different Switches and Inverters, are used to operate local equipment. This can be equipment like lights or extraction fans. They are most commonly used in the fume cupboards. IP 55 Switch Inverter Emergency Switch Thermal Switch Emergency Switches are mainly used as a means to quickly stop the fan of a fume cupboard. At the same time, they also cut off the main electricity to the fume cupboard. Thermal Switches are most commonly used for the fans of Extraction Arms and Fume Canopies. Thermal relay and switches are placed at the inner side of the energy units which provides easy access in case of emergency. As the demands on electrical systems vary from project to project it is of importance to discuss the requirements before project execution. The System is flexible enough to allow all kinds of different configurations. If project specifications are not established we can advice you based on our experience in previous projects. Electricity Page 53 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 53 / 102

- Electricity - Installed Cable Channel We offer 3 alternatives of routing electricity through the benches The choice is depending on client s preferences and on the use of the bench. Cable Channel mounted on Bench Electricity Alternative 1: Simple construction for the laboratories where an energy unit is not required. The power sockets are installed in the Cable Channel which will be mounted on the bench. In this case an electrical cable is routed to the different sockets. The power supply cable should come from the wall. If required it is also possible to install a fuse box in the cable channel. Power Supply cable from electrical equipment on wall Page 54 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 54 / 102

- Electricity - Energy Panel Installed 7 Electrical Equipment mounted on Media cell Energy Units Alternative 2: Electrical equipment is installed in Energy Units fixed to the benches. The power supply cable should be brought to an agreed upon location at the bench itself. The cable can be routed from the floor or from above the false ceiling. The electricity on the bench can be protected by a fuse box supplied by us. We also can take care of the internal wiring of the furniture. - Electricity - Energy Panel Installed Electrical Equipment mounted on Media cell Energy Panel Units Electricity Alternative 3: The electrical equipment is installed in the Energy Units which are fixed to the benches. If needed we will advise the best location for the supply cables. If required we also will advise the proper cable to be used. The supply cables prepared by you or others will be brought down to the benches through Service Columns. The supply cable will be connected to a Fuse Box mounted on the service column. The supply cable will be protected by the main breaker. Then, independent breakers are used to protect the individual groups on the bench. - Electricity - Installation Cabling in Column Under bench Cabling Cable in Panel Fuse box Back view Fuse box Front view IP 55 Socket Back view The Power Supply Cable is an electricity cable that feeds all systems at the benches. 5 x 4 cables (L1 + L2 + L3+ N + PE) must be routed by client/others to assigned locations where the benches will be installed in the Laboratory. This cable will be brought down (in case supplied from the false ceiling) to the benches through the service column. All cabling within the bench can be done by us. The power supply cable is connected to the Fuse Box. The Fuse Boxes used are according to IP 55. In most cases there are there will be 3 x 32 A Main Fuses with 1 x 16 A semi automatic fuses to protect each double socket. Other configurations are possible if required for the project. A Cable Channel is used to safely distribute the cables throughout the bench. The Sockets are mounted on the panels of the energy units. Those panels can be easily opened for maintenance purposes or modifications. 7 Sockets 3-Phase Sockets Fuse Boxes Cables ELECTRICAL - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Protection Class.. Volt.... Ampere. - - Sinks System is another important service needed in most laboratory rooms. A water system in a laboratory usually consist of different parts like; Sinks and Cup Sinks Taps Pegboards Boilers Emergency Showers Installation and connections We have different types of sinks and taps available. The choice is strongly depending on the type of benches chosen, your wishes and also on the application. The materials for Sinks and Cup Sinks vary according to worktops of the bench. The standard material options are; Poly Propylene Stoneware (Ceramic) Epoxy Resin Stainless Steel Poly Propylene Sinks and Cup Sinks are generally used to be fixed to the bench surface such as Trespa, Compact, Corian. The material has a high resistance against acids, bases and mechanical impact. The siphons of the sink are also made of Poly Propylene. As an option the sinks come with an overflow discharge and/or chained stopper. These sinks are used as general units in Chemical Laboratories and at School Laboratories. It is possible to connect the sinks to the general waste system or to a separate tank. If connected to a tank the water can be cleaned or cooled. The water can then be reused for cooling of laboratory equipment. This is especially useful for areas where water is an expensive commodity and/or sustainability is preferred. - - Sinks Epoxy Resin Sink and Cup Sinks are used in conjunction with Epoxy Resin Worktops. Epoxy Resin has a high resistance against acids and bases and is heat resistant. It further has a good mechanical resistance. The waste water siphons of the sinks are made of Poly Propylene. It is generally used at Chemical Laboratories. 7 Epoxy Resin Sinks and Cup Sinks Evyeler : ES 001 - ES 002 - ES 003 Cup Sinkler : ES 011 - ES 012 - ES 013 Page 63 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 63 / 102

- - Sinks Stainless Steel Sink and Cup Sinks can be made as an integral part of a Stainless Steel Worktop. Due to the material properties it is easy to clean. The waste water siphons of the sinks are made of Poly Propylene. It has a wide range of applications generally used at Chemical Analysis Laboratories. It is often request for oil sinks and in special biological applications. The standard dimensions are 400 x 400 x 250 mm. Other sizes can be made on request. Stainless Steel Sinks : SS 001 - SS 002 - SS 003 Cup Sinks : SS 011 - SS 012 - SS 013 The waste water siphons of all sinks are as a standard made of Poly Propylene. All the sinks in a bench can be connected to a single drain pipe installed in the bench, thus requiring only a single discharge point in the floor for each bench. The drain pipe used can be made of PVC or PP according to your needs. In special cases flexible tubes can be used. Page 64 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 64 / 102

The body of the water taps are made of brass and are epoxy painted. Cold Tap Panel Mounted and Cold Taps are normally connected to water tubing by flexible connections made of Poly Propylene (PP). Demineralized Taps have an internal PP coating and also use PP tubing and connections. Due to the corrosiveness properties Distilled Taps and tubing are made of Stainless Steel To differentiate between the different types of water the taps have a colour coding. The Standard Colour Codes are according to EN 13792. If your project has different requirements let us know and we will assist you. - - Pegboards and Boilers Pegboard Pegboards are used at benches with a sink or at independent sink units. Pegboards are provided to dry clean glassware. The pegboards are made of Poly Propylene and have a drip cup at the bottom. The water collected in the drip cup is routed into the sink by a discharge hose. Dimensions and Pegs; 28 Pegs for a Pegboard with dimensions of 600x450 h mm 43 Pegs for a Pegboard with dimensions of 900x450 h mm 58 Pegs for a Pegboard with dimensions of 1200x450 h A Boiler is used to provide localized hot water. A local boiler has the advantage that no separate hot water line is needed inside a laboratory. Especially in large laboratories where long hot water lines would be needed this can be a big cost (and water) saver. The boilers are available in 10 or 15 litres capacity, usually enough for normal operation. Boilers are installed in under bench cabinets. The boiler require a 220V power supply. The power needed can be taken from the supply cables as described in the electricity section. The boiler will be protected by 1x16A fuse. Waste Bins are installed fixed to the cabinet door of the under bench cabinet. When the door is opened the lid of the bin opens automatically. There are stainless and Poly Propylene models available. 7 Pegboards and Boilers A Boiler and Waste Bin installed in cabinets Page 67 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 67 / 102

- - Emergency Eye and Body Showers Emergency Eye Washers ESW-001 ESW-004 ESW-005 ESW-006 Emergency Body Showers Personal Safety is the most important issue for laboratories. Eye and Body Showers are an integral part of laboratory safety. If personnel is exposed to extreme (fire steam), or chemicals an emergency shower is an essential item to have close by. We have 3 types of emergency showers which are Eye Shower, Body Shower and Eye & Body Shower. Eye Showers are available in different models. They can be installed on benches, most common next to a sink, on the wall, floor mounted or as part of a body shower. There are models available with a single outlet or models with double outlets. The bench mounted eye washes have a flexible hose to allow it to be pulled out when needed. Emergency Body Showers are also available in different models. The most common models are; Wall mounted Wall mounted above door opening Floor mounted. The body showers are operated by pulling a lever. If a body shower has an integrated eye wash than that unit can be operated separately by pressing a button. BSW-001 BSW-002 BSW-004 Page 68 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 68 / 102

- Gases - Pressure Reducers and Manifolds 7 Pressure Reducers and Flame arrester Gas Cylinder Cabinet- Manifolds and Signal Box Pressure Reducers are used in laboratory on locations where lower pressures are needed. The gases, coming from the manifolds are normally at a pressure of around 12 bars. The pressure reducers can reduce the pressure to a range of 1.5 to 8 bars The Reducers can be used as reducer for a whole section, a single bench or even a single tap. The pressure reducers are made of 316 L Stainless Steel. It can be for all normal and pure gases. The pressure reducers have an optional block valve to be able to shut off an entire section. Most gases will originate from high pressure cylinders (200 bar). These gas cylinders are in most cases placed in a gas shelter at the outside of the building. In some cases, instead of a shelter, gas cylinder cabinets are used. Those are available in different configurations, safety classes and sizes. The pressure from the cylinders are reduced by the use of manifolds. Manifolds are also available in different configurations. There are manual, semi automatic and automatic models available. Those manifolds can be connected to a single or multiple gas cylinders. The configuration is in most cases dependent on expected gas use. Contact us for assistance in this matter. An option is to have an alarm box connected to the manifold to get a visible and audible signal inside the laboratory when a cylinder is almost empty. The Gas Distribution System (GDS) can further be equipped with safety materials like flame arresters and high flow detectors The GDS (copper or Stainless Steel) can be installed by using compression fittings, soldering or welding (e.g. Orbital Welding). - Gas - Installation Copper Gas Tubing Two types of tubing are commonly used for a Gas Distribution System (GDS), Medical Copper Tubing are used for gases with lower purity (purity grade 5.0 or less). Copper tubing is also used for potable water inside the benches. Copper tubing can be installed by either Oxygen Welding or by using Brass compression fittings like DK or Swagelok. 316L Stainless Steel tubing is utilized for high purity gases (greater than class 5.0) and for gases which interact/react with copper. The GDS can be installed by using stainless steel compression fittings or by welding. Orbital Welding is a favourite technique requested by our clients. Diameters of the tubing vary depending on the location in the GDS. Depending on the local situation imperial or metric sized material is available. Inside the benches the connections are usually made by using compression fittings, this to offer greater flexibility for modifications and maintenance. The tubing outside the benches can be welded or installed by using compression fitting. After installation the system will be pressure Stainless Steel Gas Tubing tested, normally for 8 hours at 1.5 times the normal operating pressure. Nitrogen (or another inert gas) is used for pressure testing. Other test procedures can be arranged if you have specific requirements Gases Stainless Steel Tubing with Compression Fittings Page 72 / 102 ENLAB - System Page 72 / 102
