Caution: Natural Gas Installation, Modification and Repair Must Be Done By A Qualified Professional Installer. Read Instructions Completely Before Installing This Outdoor Fire Pit. Serious injury, death, burns, explosions, carbon monoxide poisoning can result if not installed and used correctly. Be sure you understand all safety precautions and warnings contained in this manual. Children MUST be supervised when in the vicinity of this appliance. Keep children at a safe distance from the appliance to avoid burns. Before each use make sure the area around the Fire Pit is clear of flammable items, especially gasoline, matches, paper, debris, wood, and other flammable vapors and liquids. DO NOT use or continue using this appliance if you smell unusual odors, have headaches, nausea, or dizziness. This appliance must be installed a minimum of 60 inches from center of burner to any combustible walls or material. This appliance should not be installed under any type of ceiling, roof or overhang. Do not use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified technician to inspect the appliance and replace any part of the control system and any gas controls which have been under water. Make sure appliance is completely dry before lighting. Check state and local codes to determine if the outdoor fire pit is permitted in your location before installation. When shutting the appliance down make sure to turn the gas control knob on the appliance off and the gas supply valve at the propane tank or natural gas supply completely off. This appliance is an attended appliance. Adults must be present when using the appliance. DO NOT leave the appliance burning when unattended. Serious injury and/or damage can occur if the appliance is left burning unattended. DO NOT burn any items or cook in the outdoor fire pit. Solid fuels shall not be burned in this appliance. 2

THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 60 inches of clearance from the center of the appliance to any combustible sidewalls. The appliance MUST NOT BE installed under any type of ceiling, roof or overhang. Clearances to Combustible Construction Sidewalls: 60 from center of fire pit (Figure). Ceiling: Nothing should be above the outdoor Fire Pit. Floor: 0 - Can be installed on deck, slab, ground, etc. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION INSTALLATION, OPERATING AND SAFETY GUIDELINES. Before installing this outdoor fire pit, check Minimum Clearance to Combustibles shown in Figure above. MINIMUM CLEARANCES must be maintained when you install this outdoor fire pit. THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 60 from the center of the burner to any combustible sidewall. The appliance MUST NOT BE installed under any type of ceiling, roof or overhang. 2. This outdoor fire pit is for outdoor use only. DO NOT install or use this appliance inside a building, garage, or any other enclosed area including recreational vehicles and/or boats. This appliance must be installed in such a manner that proper air ventilation is maintained without obstruction at all times, and during all weather conditions. 3. CHECK GAS TYPE (natural gas or propane): The gas supply you intend to use may not be the same as that stated on your outdoor fire pit rating plate. THIS FIRE PIT IS CONSTRUCTED FOR USE WITH PROPANE GAS. If the gas supply is different, or you wish to change to natural gas, you MUST have the fire pit converted to the gas type you intend to use by a qualified, professional installer (See page 7). If you are unsure, contact your dealer for assistance.. DO NOT USE IF GAS PRESSURE IS LOWER THAN THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT OR EXCEEDS THE MAXIMUM. 5. FOR PROPANE: The minimum inlet gas supply pressure for purposes of input is 8 inches water column and the maximum inlet gas supply pressure is 3 inches water column. FOR NATURAL GAS: The minimum inlet gas supply pressure for purposes of input is 5 inches water column and maximum inlet gas supply pressure is 0 inches water column. DO NOT INSTALL THIS APPLIANCE IF MINIMUM PRESSURE IS NOT AVAILABLE OR IF MAXIMUM PRESSURE IS EXCEEDED. 6. Before each use of this appliance check the LP (Liquid Propane) Hose and inspect it for wear, abrasion or cuts. If there is evidence of abrasion, wear or damage is found replace the hose immediately. The LP Hose is located inside the base of the unit and can be accessed by turning the door knob counterclockwise to open. The replacement hose shall meet manufacturer specifications. 7. Gas piping system must be sized to provide minimum inlet pressure at the maximum flow rate (BTU/hr). Undue pressure loss will occur if the pipe is too small or the run is too long. 3

8. Regularly check the burner of this appliance for wear or damage. If damage is found replace the burner immediately. The replacement burner shall meet manufacturer specifications. 9. For installations above 2,000 ft., contact your local dealer or gas supplier before installing as input ratings should be reduced approximately % for each,000 ft. above sea level. Refer to the National Fuel Gas Code. Contact your retailer for the required orifice. 0. This appliance must be isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing its individual shutoff valve during any pressure testing of the gas supply system at test pressure equal to or less than ½ psi (3.5kPa).. This appliance and its main gas valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system by closing its equipment shut-off valve during any pressure testing of the system at pressures in excess of ½ psi (3.5 kpa). 2. GAS SUPPLY PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS: Only use joint compounds that are resistant to all gasses on all male pipe fittings. Make sure to tighten all joints securely. Do not use pipe joint compound to connect flare fittings. 3. A self contained LP Gas cylinder for use with this appliance must have a capacity of 20 lbs./9 kgs. and must be equipped with a Type connector and an OPD (overfill protection device). The LP Gas cylinder must be constructed and marked in accordance with the specification for LP Gas cylinders Standard of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) or the National Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA-B339, Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods.. Caution: The propane gas pressure regulator provided with this appliance must be used. Regulator outlet pressure is set at inches water column. 5. Cleaning the appliance: At least twice a year, more often depending on usage, remove the glass and clean the burners and glass using a mild soap and water. Thoroughly dry the burners before use. Keep the glass free of debris. Other appliance parts can also be cleaned with mild soap and water. 6. Regularly make a visual check of the burner flame. The picture below provides a proper representation of the flame height when in the gas control knob is in the high position. INSTALLATION INFORMATION CONNECTING THE GAS TO THE FIRE PIT IMPORTANT: CAREFULLY READ ALL OF THE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS OWNER S MANUAL BEFORE INSTALLATION AND CONNECTING THE GAS. BEFORE INSTALLATION, BE SURE THE PROPANE TANK IS TURNED OFF. To connect to the propane gas tank, attach the black hose (with regulator) and tighten down the connector. Follow all instructions and safety warnings supplied with the propane tank. Turn on the gas to the burner system and test for leaks with soapy water solution. Never use an open flame for testing. If a leak is found, tighten the connector until no leaks are detected. If leaks are detected consult a professional. Properly locate the gas hose out of pathways where people may trip over it or in areas where the hose may be subject to heated surfaces or accidental damage. Carefully inspect the cartons for shipping damage. If any parts are missing or damaged, call your dealer. Do not attempt to install the appliance unless all parts are in good condition. Correct installation is crucial to safe performance of your Outdoor Fire Pit. SAFETY NOTE: An external on/off valve in the gas line is required for safety when your Outdoor Fire Pit is not in use. It also provides for convenient maintenance and repair.

Do not use power tools when tightening bolts as the threads could be damaged. Assembly Instructions:. Align the screw holes of table top (B) with the holes in the base brackets (A). 2. Attach table top (B) to base (A) with flat washers (E), lock washers (F) and bolts (D). Tighten all the bolts completely but do not over tighten. Attach all the nut caps. 3. Fill the stainless steel pan with the burner using tumbled glass, approximately 25 to 30 pounds, making sure the burner is covered. Mound the tumbled glass in the center leaving about one () inch of pan exposed. Fill so that the cover sits flush with the table surface. See Figure and 2 below. Tumbled glass sold separately. MORE FREQUENT CLEANING MAY BE REQUIRED AS NECESSARY. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT CONTROL COMPARTMENT, BURNERS, AND CIRCULATING AIR PASSAGEWAYS OF THE APPLIANCE BE KEPT CLEAN. BEFORE LIGHTING READ ALL SAFETY INFORMATION ABOVE BEFORE LIGHTING, smell all around the Outdoor Fire Pit area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the ground or floor because some gas is heavier than air and will settle at the lowest point. IF YOU SMELL GAS FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE. Use only your hand to push in or turn the gas control knob. Never use tools. If the knob will not push in or turn by hand DO NOT attempt to repair it. Call a qualified, professional service technician. Force or attempted repair may result in fire or explosion. LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS Gas Control Knob Push Knob In. Push in the gas control knob in and turn clockwise to the OFF position. 2. Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear out of the appliance. 3. Place a burning match on the surface of the tumbled glass that covers the burner. Do not hold the match by hand.. After the match is burning and in position, push in the gas control knob slightly, and turn the knob slowly counter-clockwise to the ON position. 5. Shutting the gas off: Turn the gas control knob clockwise to the OFF position. Also turn the main gas valve knob off at the propane tank or gas source. BEFORE RELIGHTING CAUTION: DO NOT turn the gas to the ON position FOR 5 MINUTES after shutting the unit off. 6

CONVERTING YOUR FIRE PIT TO A DIFFERENT GAS TYPE To convert your Fire Pit from propane (LP) to natural gas (NG) or natural gas to propane gas, carefully follow the steps below: WARNING: GAS CONVERSION MUST BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER OR TECHNICIAN.. MAKE SURE THAT THE GAS SUPPLY TO THE FIRE PIT IS SHUT OFF. ANY NEARBY ELECTRICAL SOURCES AND APPLIANCES SHOULD ALSO BE SHUT OFF. 2. Make sure the appliance and the glass are NOT HOT. 3. Disconnect hose and remove the propane tank. Make sure tank valve is closed before removal of the hose.. Remove Propane connector hose from the gas control valve on the side of the Fire Pit. This Propane connector hose cannot be used with Natural Gas. 5. Remove all glass from the Fire Pit stainless steel pan. 6. Remove the screws attaching the burner pan to the Fire Pit base. 7. Carefully detach the connector hose attached to the orifice holder and unscrew the orifice holder and LP Gas orifice from the burner pipe. (Figures and 2) 8. Remove the LP Gas orifice and replace it with the proper sized natural gas orifice. 9. Connect the connector hose to the orifice holder. 0. Connect the burner pan to the Fire Pit base.. Connect the connector hose to the gas control valve. 2. Connect new natural gas pipe to gas control valve and new natural gas shut off valve inside the appliance base. 3. Connect new fixed pipe to natural gas supply and to the new shut off valve.. Make sure all joints are properly sealed. Check for gas leaks.
