Installation Instructions Tersen TM Ratio Canopy 1.5
Ratio Canopy 1.5 tlroc15 Installation Instructions NOTE: This lighting fixture is designed for outdoor lighting services, and should not be used in areas of limited ventilation or in high ambient temperature enclosures. It must be stored in a dry location prior to installation. Do not expose lighting fixture to rain, dust or other environmental conditions prior to installation. Construction is suitable for down lighting only. Do not place the fixture onto the ground with the LED/optical side facing down during the installation process. Best results will be obtained if installed and maintained according to the following recommendations. INSTALLATION: Your lighting fixture has been shipped with one of several types of mounting options. Please follow the installation instructions specific to the catalog part that you ordered. If the maintenance plan for your specific mounting application calls for hosing down the fixture, all supply wires used must include wet rated wire insulation and splice components. STOP PRIOR TO INSTALLATION ASSURE THAT ALL POWER IS OFF CEILING MOUNT: TOOLS REQUIRED: Flat blade screw driver, Phillips head screw driver, electrical wiring tools. 1. Assemble top quick mount bracket to j-box [not supplied] located in ceiling using appropriate hardware [not supplied] for the junction interface [j-box must be secured to ceiling structure and must be able to support a minimum of 25 lbs.]. 2. Lift fixture assembly to the top quick mount bracket that has been attached to the ceiling/ j-box and connect the safety cable clip to the hole provided in the top quick mount box. 3. Connect supply wires to appropriate fixture leads with wire nuts: a. Supply side line voltage wire to black fixture lead. b. Supply side neutral wire to white fixture lead. c. Supply side ground wire to green fixture lead. 4. Push the wire splices back into j-box while lifting fixture to rotate the bottom quick mount bracket into the top quick mount bracket until positive stop and audible click. 5. The fixture is now ready to be energized.
PENDANT MOUNT (Swivel junction box cover): TOOLS REQUIRED: Pipe wrench, 9/64 hex bit, electrical wiring tools. 1. Feed wires exiting fixture through ¾ stem and the bell-shaped swivel pivot of the Tersen SLVxx Accessory. 2. Apply pipe sealant per sealant manufacturer s instruction to threaded stem ends. Attach the bellshaped swivel pivot of the Tersen SLVxx Accessory to produce a water tight seal on one stem end and other end to fixture to produce a water-tight seal. Tighten to 20 in-lbs. 3. Remove stem locking screw and apply sealant per sealant manufacturer s instruction to ensure a water-tight connection. Reinsert set screw and tighten to 10 in-lbs. 4. Secure the swivel junction box cover to the junction box appropriately mounted on ceiling surface. 5. Raise the fixture and hang the swivel pivot in the open swivel cover so the entire fixture assembly nests in place. 6. Align the T-shaped locking tab on the swivel cover with the slot in the swivel pivot. Using a screwdriver, push the T tab over the top of the slot on the swivel pivot to prevent the swivel pivot from rotating. NOTE: The top of the T tab should rest in the bottom of the slot in the swivel pivot. This will allow the fixture assembly to swing freely while still maintaining a solid connection with the pipe. 7. Connect wires to appropriate fixture leads using UL approved splicing/wire nuts: a. Supply side ground wire to green fixture lead. b. Supply side neutral wire to white fixture lead. c. Supply side line voltage wire to black fixture lead. 8. Set wiring into junction box without compromising the connections. 9. Rotate junction box cover closed and secure with screw. 10. The fixture is now ready to be energized. Tersen Headquarters 3825 Columbus Road Granville, OH 43023 Phone: 1-800-410-8899 www.tersenlighting.com
Ratio Canopy 1.5 tlroc15 Installation Instructions PENDANT MOUNT (Fixed junction box cover): TOOLS REQUIRED: Pipe wrench, 9/64 hex bit, electrical wiring tools. 1. Feed wires exiting fixture through ¾ stem and bring that end close to the fixture. 2. Apply appropriate sealant per sealant manufacturer s instruction to pendant threads and thread pendant into fixture to ensure a water-tight seal. Tighten to 20 in-lbs. 3. Remove stem locking screw and apply sealant per sealant manufacturer s instruction to ensure a water-tight connection. Reinsert set screw and tighten to 10 in-lbs.thread the 1st conduit nut onto other end of 3/4 pipe nipple and run to the end of thread. 4. Position pipe nipple through the circular opening of a j-box cover plate. 5. Secure the pipe nipple to the j-box cover plate using the 2nd conduit nut. Tighten both nuts securely against the plate oriented with respect to fixture. 6. Tighten the set screw in the fixture to secure pipe nipple against rotation. 7. Connect wires to appropriate fixture leads using UL approved splicing/wire nuts: a. Supply side ground wire to green fixture lead. b. Supply side neutral wire to white fixture lead. c. Supply side line voltage wire to black fixture lead. 8. The fixture is now ready to be energized.
BI-LEVEL SWITCHING [IF EQUIPPED] For Bi-level switching, the input leads to the fixture will be independently labeled to indicate dimming preferences as appropriate [as defined by the order requirements]. Two [2] Separate supply lines of line voltage, neutral and ground must be provided to the fixture to enable the bilevel switching functionality of the fixture. MAINTENANCE A regular maintenance schedule should be followed to retain optimal light output and thermal performance. Optical lens cleaning should be performed with a clean dry cloth to remove any dust or other contaminants. Additional cleaning can be performed with non-abrasive acrylic cleansing solution. The following chemicals tested as harmful to the LED s and should not be used on or around the fixture. Consult Tersen Lighting before use of any chemical agent. Chemicals that might outgas aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., toluene, benzene, xylene) Methyl acetate or ethyl acetate (i.e., nail polish remover) Cyanoacrylates (i.e., Superglue ) Glycol ethers (including Radio Shack Precision Electronics Cleaner - dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether) Formaldehyde or butadiene (including Ashland PLIOBOND adhesive) Loctite Sumo Glue Gorilla Glue Clorox bleach Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner spray Loctite 384 adhesive Loctite 7387 activator Tersen Headquarters 3825 Columbus Road Granville, OH 43023 Phone: 1-800-410-8899 www.tersenlighting.com
