BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE The minimum fee for any permit shall be sixty-five dollars ($65.00). A plan review fee may be charged in addition to the base permit fees. Permit fees based on the value of work done may be adjusted to reflect actual costs. Re-inspection fee shall be sixty-five dollars ($65.00) Extensions of Temporary Occupancy ($70.00) New Construction and Commercial Addition Fees For new buildings and commercial additions, the fee shall be based on the Building Valuation Data Report as published in the Building Official and Code Administrator Magazine, to be updated July 1 of each year to conform to the latest published Building Valuation Data Report. State change requires type R5 fees shall be the same as R3. This fee includes all associated trade permit fees. Other Permit Fees Building Permit Fees A. Commercial/Residential Alterations The fee for repair and alteration of a building or structure when there is no addition or enlargement shall be calculated on the actual cost of the work covered under the permit as follows: one (1.0) percent of the total cost. A copy of the contract is required upon request. B. Residential Additions Fees for additions shall be computed on the exterior dimensions of all floors. The fee for a residential addition of 1,000 square feet or less shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). The fee for a residential addition larger than 1,000 square feet shall be charged as new construction. C. Miscellaneous Building Permit Fees 1.) Sales and office trailers shall be one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00) 2.) Moved, relocated, manufactured and industrialized structures shall be charged as new construction. 3.) Swimming Pools: Residential pools Ninety-five dollars ($95.00) Other pools One hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00)

4.) Structures, other than a building (signs, antennae, dish antennae, bleachers, etc.), for which no fee appears in this schedule shall be calculated at the rate of one (1.0) percent of the actual cost of the work, with a minimum fee of ninety dollars ($90.00) 5.) Fees for permits, inspections or reports on any building or structure, not covered by this fee schedule, shall be the actual cost of the County services as determined by the Building Official 6.) Special inspections not covered elsewhere shall be seventy dollars ($70.00) per inspection 7.) A Stop Work Order posted on a job shall be ninety-five dollars ($95.00) 8.) The permit fee for the demolition of a building or structure shall be seventy dollars ($70.00) 9.) The permit fee for a commercial occupancy permit shall be seventy dollars ($70.00) 10.) The permit fee for a residential occupancy permit shall be seventy dollars ($70.00) 11.) The permit fee for a temporary occupancy permit shall be seventy dollars ($70.00) D. Electrical Permit Fees 1.) Service Equipment (new, temporary or replacement): 0 to 400 amps $ 70.00 Over 400 amps $ 95.00 2.) Sub-panels $ 30.00 each 3.) J. Amusement Devices Inspection Fees These fees are to cover all costs of administrative and enforcement activities performed by local government personnel including processing permits, inspecting amusement devices, posting inspection labels, etc. Fees shall be charged in accordance with 13VAC5-31-100 pursuant to Title 36 of the Code of Virginia. K. Plan Review Fees 1.) Residential Plan Review: New construction, 1 & 2 Family Dwelling $ 60.00 The fee for a plan review of R-3, R-4 and R-5 additions and alterations shall be thirty five percent (35%) of the permit fee, not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00). 2.) Commercial Plan Review: Building Volume (Sq. Ft. All Floors) Plan Review Fee 0 to 10, 000 $155.00 10, 001 to 25, 000 $235.00 25, 001 to 50,000 $275.00 50, 001 to 100, 000 $310.00 100, 001 to 175, 000 $350.00 175, 001 to 250, 000 $395.00 250, 001 to 300, 000 $430.00 over 300, 000 $470.00 plus $5.00 per each additional 10,000 sq. ft. The fee for individual trade review for new, alterations, and additions is $ 60.00 3.) When determined by the Building Official that the complexity of the plan requires independent review, the applicant shall pay the fee.
