The tank As a matter of principle, the tank is located centrally in the cabinet. This leads to improved ergonomics and easier access for servicing. The beta.d module is available as an air-cooled (ill.) or water/glycol-cooled unit. An intermediate dampening solution tank including pre-filter functionality, ensures a constant return flow with reduced foaming. Additive containers The electrical switchboard, additive containers and dampening solution tank are integrated within the unit to ensure easy accessibility. Additive containers are integrated into the cabinet, eliminating the risk of spillage or accident. Refrigeration units Inside the air-cooled cabinets, the compact refrigeration unit with compressor/evaporator is located underneath the tank whilst the condenser has an upfacing air exhaust. The refrigeration unit for water-/ glycol-cooled cabinets is also located underneath the dampening solution tank. The cabinet can easily be connected to an external cooling system. Pivoting connectors allow great flexibility during installation. The filter bag efficiently cleans the tank: softflow up to 300 % larger filter area compared to normal filter mats.

Small leaks, e. g. in the area of the cylinder rotary unions, are compensated for by an automatic water refilling device. The beta.f fine filtration unit has been developed, based upon years of experience in dampening solution circulation for sheet-fed offset presses. It operates continuously and efficiently in bypass connection to the dampening solution tank of the circulator. The compact beta.f cabinet unit relies on a two-step filtration method. The pre-filter system with its filter cartridges is used to thoroughly pre-clean the dampening solution and to relieve the strain on the main filter module. The main filter is used for intensive cleaning of the dampening solution using a powerful deep-bed filter. The quality of the filter modules is perpetually monitored by integrated pressure sensors. The result of this continuous bypass cleaning process is a perfectly decontaminated dampening solution and a clean system from the dampening solution tank to the dampening solution trays at the print units. As the dampening solution system requires only minimal cleaning, the operating costs are drastically reduced whilst press availability is maximised. Occasional maintenance work can be carried out easily due to the units practical design.
