Our heritage lies in the Staffordshire mill town of Leek, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park, and equidistant between the spa town of Buxton and the Potteries, home of the ceramic industry. Originally built for silk manufacturing, Leek's many mills became home to the antiques trade in the 1970s following the decline of the silk industry. This has strongly influenced our approach to cabinet making.
The attention to detail and quality of construction in our products is drawn directly from our appreciation of the antique tradition around us. We are extremely proud of our kitchen and furniture collections, which are continually developing as we source inspiration from our surroundings. Our aim is to create modern-day antiques that will bring quality, style and excellent value to any home for many years to come.
Our designs are authentic, inspired and relaxed. We work to classical proportions combining traditional form, natural resources, sophisticated colours and superior finishing touches. Our considered and handcrafted approach results in kitchens which are functional, original and feel bespoke All our kitchens and furniture are made to order to your specification, from the size to the finishing options., meaning the final piece is completely made for you.
Mr Jameson, Whitmore, Staffordshire.
Our cabinets are in-frame and use traditional butt hinges and dovetail joints with solid-wood drawer boxes. It is these techniques and our stringent attention to detail that not only ensure our products are both structurally and aesthetically pleasing, but which allow the character of each design to tell a story.
specifically chosen for their suitability to our craft, responsibly sourced and FSC controlled. We strive to ensure there is harmony between the humble and honest natural resources we start with and the finished pieces we create. Poplar - also known as tulipwood - is used for framing: it has very little shrinkage and no knots, making it ideal for painted finishes. Our carcassing is beech veneered, ensuring stability and strength, and our drawer boxes are made from Scandinavian redwood. Oak drawer boxes and carcasses are also available as an option.
