Product Introduction To get the best out of your new rechargeable insect killer, please read through these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. Take particular note of the safety precautions. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference. 3
Important Safeguards 1. READ THE MANUAL. 2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 3. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision. 4. Keep the appliance under constant supervision while in use. Keep an eye on any children in the vicinity of the appliance when it is in use. THE APPLIANCE IS NOT A TOY. 5. Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal injury and damage the appliance. 6. Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling(see also Warranty Terms). 7. For domestic use only. Not for commercial use. 8. Remove all packaging and transport materials from the inside and outside of the appliance. 9. Check that the appliance has no visible damage and that no parts are missing. 10. Do not use with any cords other than the one supplied. 11. Turn off the appliance and remove the plug from the socket before cleaning. 12. Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug. 13. Keep the cord and appliance away from heat sources, hot objects, and flames. 14. Ensure that the cord is fully extended and not kinked. 15. The cord must not be twisted or wound around the appliance. 16. Check regularly that neither the cord nor the plug is damaged and do not use the appliance if there is any damage, or if it has been dropped on the floor, dropped in water or damaged in any other way. Important Safeguards(continued) 17. If the appliance, cord or plug has been damaged, stop using and call customer service. 18. The charger may only be connected to 120V, 60 Hz. The warranty is not valid if the appliance is connected to incorrect voltage. 19. The appliance must be used together with a timer switch or a separate remote control system. 20. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for repairs under warranty. 21. Unauthorized repairs or modifications will void the warranty. 22. This appliance must not be used in workshops, stables, barns, or other places where there may be dust or flammable objects/fumes. 23. Never insert fingers or objects into the appliance when it is switched on. Contact with the high voltage mesh in the appliance may cause a serious electrical shock! 24. The appliance MUST NOT BE COVERED. 25. Do not put bait or insect poison in the appliance. 5

Charging the Bug Zapper CHARGING 1. Insert the connector from the charger (7) into the charging socket (6) on the appliance. 2. When Using the Zapper USE 1. Hang the appliance up by the handle (1) or place it on a flat surface. The appliance should be positioned out of the reach of children. 2. Switch on using the ON/OFF button. Depending on the setting, it can either be used as an insect killer with ultraviolet light or as a lamp with white light. 3. The appliance s ultraviolet light attracts flying insects, which are killed when they come into contact with the high-voltage mesh. The dead insects collect at the bottom of the appliance. 4. The appliance can also be used while the charger is connected. 8
Care and Maintenance CLEANING 1. Unplug the appliance. 2. Remove the dead insects by gently shaking the appliance. If necessary, use the brush located on the bottom of the appliance or compressed air to remove the dead insects. 3. Make sure not to damage the appliance s high-voltage mesh and UVA tube. 4. Do not submerge the appliance in water, and do not let water enter the appliance. Clean the outside of the appliance by wiping it with a damp cloth. 5. Allow to dry completely after cleaning. DO NOT USE THE APPLIANCE IF IT IS DAMP. 9
Warranty American Outland offers a 1 year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase, when used in accordance with the instructions provided. Any defective part will be, at the discretion of American Outland, repaired or replaced at no charge if the product has not been tampered with has been used according to the printed instructions. This warranty does not cover damages or wear resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, commercial use, or unauthorized adjustment and/or repair. The consumer is responsible for charges incurred for shipping the defective unit to American Outland for return/replacement. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase. This warranty gives you specific legal rights as well as other rights that vary from state to state.
