For the new Urban Anthology collection, we worked closely with artisans and mills from around the world, spanning Italy, India, Turkey, and the U.S., to create textiles that highlight luxurious fibers, unique constructions, and wondrous textures. Meanwhile, modern city landscapes served as inspiration for Urban Anthology s color palette and patterns. From strong grays and soft silvers inspired by cement and steel structures seen in metropolises to geometrics and interlocking motifs that recall city skylines and modern architecture, every design tells a story of urban living and reflects the beauty of timeless craft. 2
We re delighted to debut Duralee Designer Lonni Paul s first fabric collection, featuring Crypton Home performance technology. Based in California and a mother to young twins, Lonni is no stranger to balancing the demands of a busy work life and raising a family. It was her search for chic yet durable fabrics for the home that prompted this collection, which is full of designs that are both glamorous and livable. Here we talk to the designer about her inspirations behind the collection. Duralee Designer How would you describe the aesthetic of this collection? The design philosophy for this collection is fashion for the home and livable luxury. The patterns are inspired by couture fashion and a custom atelier vibe. The performance quality of the fabrics cater to the livable functionality of the collection while maintaining the fashionable aesthetic. What was the best part about designing with performance fabric? I was surprised that I was able to get the hand and feel of the fabrics to such a luxurious level. With performance fabrics you are not limited to only certain applications for the fabrics. These fabrics could be used in the messiest of family rooms and kitchens but also in luxurious living and dining rooms. What inspired your color palette? The palette of this collection is both current and classic. The elegance of the soft colors is easy to live in and will stand the test of time. I love using these hues in many of my projects. They are appealing to both women and men the subtle tonal nuances make the fabrics feel luxurious and timeless. Tell us about your approach to the patterns. I was inspired by couture fashion and I wanted to make sure the little details and nuances in the designs would be noticed and appreciated. These patterns are not just your typical check, or plaid or stripe or texture. They each offer a point of view and something eye catching. How do you see designers using your fabrics? I see designers using these fabrics on literally every piece in the home! Sofas, chairs, pillows, benches, drapery everywhere! Why not?
