Caring for Stainless Steel Your new unit is made from high-grade stainless steel and will give you years of trouble free use as long as you follow a few simple rules. Clean the product regularly with a damp cloth and dry the surface with a soft cloth. Only use cleaning agent approved for Stainless Steel Do not use bleach, toilet cleaners, caustic soda or other strong chemicals as black pit marks will result and permanent damage will be caused. If any of these do come into contact with the stainless steel, rinse off thoroughly with water. Use only nylon or bristle brushes, not metal scrapers or wire brushes to loosen stubborn stains and never use scouring pads or wire wool, as they will scratch the surface. Take care when handling sharp objects as they may scratch the surface of the steel. However any minor scratches will blend together over a period of time and become less noticeable with age. Do not leave carbon steel objects such as aerosol cans, scissors or similar items standing on the surface for long periods. They can rust and leave marks.
