EBES - Criteria District Wide: 1. Each building should have one secure entry (with a consistent entry sequence) 2. Lockers will be located inside the classrooms to allow for increased visibility and circulation, as well as potential adjacent collaboration areas. Building Wide: 1. A high-level of visibility should be present throughout the building, using glass, for optimal supervision. 2. Maximize use of daylight throughout the building, especially in classrooms. Administration: 1. Office should have increased and direct visibility to entry and parking. 2. Office should have a staff bathroom (separate from Nurse)
EBES - Criteria Common Areas: 1. Spaces for Community Use are as follows: Gym Cafeteria Bathrooms Conference Room One (1) room for optional use 2. The community spaces should include a space for sitting and waiting. 3. Cafeteria should feel and be visually open to common space.

SFMS Design Guidelines Building Wide: 1. The school should feel modern, clean and updated. 2. Spaces should be easily navigable and pinch points should be eliminated. 3. Spaces should maximize natural light and improve air quality. 4. The design should improve interior circulation and connectivity, utilizing signage and logos to help orient building occupants. 5. The design should implement a cohesive color scheme to relate to other District schools, display school pride and create a sense of branding and uniformity.
SFMS Criteria Entrance/Commons: 1. Each building should have one secure entry (with a consistent entry sequence) 2. Develop a wide and open entrance to accommodate the traffic flow of students that is clearly visible from the exterior. 3. Cafeteria should be a student commons, open to adjacent circulation. Building Organization: 1. 6 th Grade shall be organized by discipline/content, similar to 7 th /8 th Grade, but should be located in an area specific to 6 th Grade. 2. 7 th /8 th Grade shall be organized by discipline/content. 1. Classes are grouped by either STEAM or Humanities. 3. Design should Masterplan for three (3) sections per grade per Core discipline.
SFMS Criteria Building Organization: 4. Science should be cohesive and organized. 1. Seven (7) labs required (Masterplan for ten (10) potential labs with necessary infrastructure in place for future conversion if needed. 5. The Media Center should be open, flexible and able to accommodate more than just reading. 6. One (1) general computer lab required adjacent to or located in the Media Center. 7. Music should remain a cohesive suite. 8. Weights should be adjacent to the Gym. 9. Locker bays should be implemented in lieu of banks along the walls.
