SAFETY RULES Please thoroughly read these safety rules prior to installing the fire extinguisher in its place of destination and/or its initial use. + Never hand the fire-extinguisher over to third parties without this associated document. + Use the fire extinguisher only for the purpose for which it was designed following the instructions located in this document and on the label. + Only use the fire extinguisher for fire classes as indicated by the label on the cylinder. + Never use the extinguisher on fires involving burning metals or burning oil! + All potential users of the fire extinguisher should be instructed on the correct use of the fire extinguisher and be aware of the risks involved in case of its misuse. + Keep out of the reach of children. + Never expose persons to the direct jet of the extinguishing agent. Keep a distance of at least 1 meter, if the burning clothes of persons are to be extinguished. + The cylinder may be under pressure. Therefore make sure that no attempts are made to exert any external force or to open the fire extinguisher by force. + Avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight or excessive heat. + Install the fire extinguisher only by using the original P3 bracket models of type P3APP003020 as listed in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) P3DOC001296. + Keep the fire extinguisher clean and periodically inspected in compliance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) P3DOC001296. + Disposal of end-of-life fire extinguishers must be in accordance with existing laws on environmental protection. 3

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS IN CASE OF FIRE + Keep Calm! + Search for the nearest available fire extinguisher + Open the first strap, secure the extinguisher with one hand, open the second strap and remove the fire extinguisher. + Hold the fire extinguisher upright with one hand and remove the safety pin with the other hand, pulling it along its axis. + Aim the nozzle of the fire extinguisher at the base of the fire. The optimal distance to the fire-base is 1.5 2 meters (~6 ft). + Push the lever of the fire extinguisher. This will immediately start the flow of agent. Releasing the leaver will interrupt the flow. + Sweep the agent stream from side to side, until the fire is extinguished. + Once the fire goes out, keep an eye on the area, and be prepared to repeat the process if the fire re-ignites. lever handle safety pin strap + Operating time: approx. 9-10 seconds bracket 6

INSPECTIONS REGULATIONS CLEANING, CHECK, RE-PRESSURIZATION + The condition of the fire extinguisher can be checked at all times. This is done by reading the indicator on the pressure gauge. At 20 C it must be around the 9 bar mark, at -40 C is should be at the lower end of the green area and at 70 C is should be at the upper end. Slight variations are normal and acceptable due to the temperature-dependency of the pressure and the tolerance of the gauge. + Examine the nozzle for obstruction. Check that the extinguisher, the safety pin and the safety seal are undamaged. + For inspection intervals and information for cleaning, check and re-pressurization refer to the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) P3DOC001296 8
