Cake to be baked in a greased and lined Swiss Roll Cake Tin 33 x 23 cm (13 x 9 ) Ingredients 4 Eggs / 100g Caster Sugar / 100g Self Raising Flour For the filling 4 tablespoons of strawberry jam Method Whisk the eggs and sugar together in a large bowl. RULES 1. NAME AND OBJECTIVE: The Disley and Lyme Horticultural Society. Promoted to foster and encourage local interest in horticulture and handicrafts. 2. EXHIBITS: All exhibits must have been grown or made by the exhibitor and have been in his or her possession for at least eight weeks prior to the Show. The Society reserves the right to inspect the allotment or garden of any exhibitor prior to the Show. Two exhibitors will not be allowed to show out of the same garden or allotment in the same class. Arts and Handicrafts exhibits that have won a prize at a previous Disley Show are not eligible for competition, but may be exhibited if labelled NOT FOR COMPETITION. 3. CHALLENGE CUPS: Trophies will be presented at the Annual Show and winners will be responsible for their safe custody. They must be returned to the Show Secretary one month before the next Annual Show. 4. PRIZES PER CLASS: Exhibitors may stage as many entries as they wish in any one class and may win as many prizes as are appropriate in any one class. In the event of a tie for trophies which are awarded for most points, the winner will be decided by the number of firsts in each case. 5. JUDGES: Will have the power to withhold prizes where they consider the exhibits unworthy and also to award special prizes to designated exhibits. The Judge s decision will be final. 6. STAGING: 4.00pm to 10.00pm Friday, 17th August 2018 STRICTLY 7.00am to 8.30am Saturday, 18th August 2018 Exhibitors are not allowed in the marquee between 8.30am and the opening of the Show unless officially required to be present. Exhibitors must provide their own containers and vases except where specified. Reasonable care will be taken of exhibits during the Show, but the Management cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage. 7. NOVICES: Horticultural exhibitors who have won any horticultural trophy at a previous DLHS show are not eligible to enter the novice horticultural classes. 8. EXHIBITORS cannot enter equivalent classes in both open and novice sections. 9. REMOVAL OF EXHIBITS: Exhibits are to remain untouched until after the Trophy presentation is complete, and must then be removed within half an hour. Exhibits remaining after the Show closes may be auctioned for the benefit of the Society. 10. CLASS TICKETS: To be collected during staging times. 11. OBJECTIONS: Should be submitted, in writing, to the Show Secretary with a 1 deposit before 2.00pm on the day of the Show. If the objection is upheld the deposit will be refunded. 12. MATTERS NOT PROVIDED FOR IN THE RULES: Will be decided by the Show Secretary whose decision will be final. 14 of 15
