Energy Trust of Oregon offers cash incentives for the installation of qualified energyefficient upgrades at the following Oregon multifamily building types: Attached residences, such as duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes Side-by-side units with no residences above or below, such as a townhome Stacked structures with five or more dwelling units, such as an apartment or condominium building with two or more stories Campus living, such as dormitories and sorority and fraternity housing Assisted living properties Common areas managed by homeowner associations, such as clubhouses and neighborhood lighting To qualify, you must typically: Have a multifamily project site located in Oregon served by a participating utility: Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural, Cascade Natural Gas or Avista. Find a contractor. Check our list of licensed and insured trade ally contractors, or use your own contractor. 2. Install. Purchase and install the qualified equipment per incentive requirements. An Energy Trust walkthrough survey is required before beginning window projects. 3. Submit incentive application. Submit within 90 days of installation. Use the Incentive Application for Weatherization Form 320W and the Incentive Application for Standard Equipment Form 320P. Your trade ally contractor can help. For all incentive upgrades, a postinstallation verification may be required.
CASH INCENTIVES Heating Requirements Properties applying for cash incentives for weatherization or heating must have space heating provided by a participating utility and properties applying for incentives for water heaters or clothes washers must have water heating provided by a participating utility. Weatherization Projects A walkthrough survey or pre-installation verification is required before starting a windows project. Projects must be installed in accordance with the specifications outlined in the Existing Multifamily Weatherization Specifications Manual at www.energytrust.org/manual. Replace manual, nonthermostatically $100 per TRV controlled valves at dwelling unit radiators. Steam Traps - Low pressure < 15 psig systems only. Repair/replace failed open steam traps. $100 per trap High-Efficiency Bath Fan without a light - New bath fan without a light must have an efficacy of 5.3 CFM/W (cubic ft per minute per watt) or higher and be ENERGY STAR approved. Heat Pump Advanced Controls (contractor installed)- Add qualifying thermostat to an existing or new ducted heat pump with electric auxiliary heat. Contractor installed thermostat must be either web-enabled or utilize an outdoor temperature sensor and be programmed with a 35 degree lockout. Cannot be combined with the Smart Thermostat incentive. ENERGY STAR Refrigerator - Must be 14.3 to 20.5 cubic feet with a top freezer and no through-the-door ice, and must be active on ENERGY STAR certified list available at energytrust.org/qualifyingfridges. $300 each $120 each $35 each WATER HEATING Heat Pump Water Heater Tier 1 - Eligible models must meet Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance s Advanced Water Heater Specification compliance. Gas Commercial Tank Water Heater - Minimum 91% thermal efficiency. Gas Commercial Condensing Tankless Water Heater - Minimum 94% thermal efficiency, electronic ignition, input of 200 kbtu/h or greater. Gas Recirculation Pump - Install controls to turn the pump off when return temperature reaches 105 F and on when the return temperature falls to 100 F. To qualify, a building must have three or more stories (excluding basement), one primary recirculation loop, no existing recirculation pump controls and gas-heated water. FOR SIDE-BY-SIDE OR DUPLEX, TRIPLEX AND FOURPLEX PROPERTIES ONLY Gas High-Efficiency Water Heater - ENERGY STAR certified. Hybrid and tankless water heaters do not qualify.
