Certification evidence: Certification File No. FX0100 Product description and performance: 1 FM200 (HFC-227ea) Total Flooding Fire Extinguishing Systems are a engineered or preengineered total flooding or local application gaseous fire suppression systems. The system consist of a storage pressure vessel or vessels which store the agent as a liquid and include assemblies designed for automatic and manual actuation, discharge assemblies, manifold check valves, selector valves (depending on the system requirements) and discharge nozzles. The storage cylinders are super-pressurised with nitrogen to discharge the agent and to provide a two phase flow through pipework reticulation with gas being distributed via nozzles within the protected enclosure. 2 The system discharge is initiated via a fire detection system which electronically operates the storage cylinders discharge valve (the valve is a differential pressure valve which can be reused following system discharge) 3 The assembled systems are intended to be designed and installed in accordance with the manufacturer s design, installation and maintenance manual based on the listed flow calculation software program and complying with the relevant design standards adopted in the jurisdiction of installation by AHJ. 4 The HFC-227Ea system design and installation shall be undertaken in full accordance with a verified pre- engineered design manual or empirical calculation. Further, these systems must be designed only by FIREX by approved and trained design engineers. 6 HFC-227ea - Agent concentration in the design application or enclosure shall not exceed the concentration limitations listed in NFPA 2001 with NFPA, NOAEL and LOAEL concentrations being based on the toxicological effect known as cardiac sensitization. 7 Marine Applications - The use of FM200 systems for marine applications is excluded.
