Smoke alarm program. In 2015 Kanawha Emergency Management County distributed to fire departments 886 smoke alarms and 60 carbon monoxide alarms. We have teamed up with the American Red Cross who also provide smoke alarms. In addition to our 886 the Red Cross working with fire departments installed over 288 smoke alarms. Requested amount $6,000.00 2. Support of the fire safety house that is operated by the Pinch Fire. They have always provided it anytime we have asked for it. They support the other fire departments anytime requested. For a generator to operate it and other needs such as fluid for the smoke machine we need $3,000.00 3. Additional props for the Bullex Fire Extinguisher Training system. We currently work with the other fire departments that have this type of trainer. We would like to add a prop that is a mockup of a kitchen stove fire. Cooking is a leading cause of fires and we emphasize that in our training. Cost for the upgrade $1,500.00 4.
