Controls The unit shall be operated via NASA Protocol with controls provided by Samsung. Controls shall integrate with a BMS system without additional interface modules. Control wiring shall be 16 AWG X 2 shielded wire. Refrigerant System The compressor(s) shall be Samsung hermetically sealed, DC inverter driven, direct vapor injected, scroll type. Vapor injected compressors provide improved performance in cooling and heating modes. Asymmetrical scroll design with rotating compressor operation/priority (where applicable). Refrigerant flow shall be controlled by EEV (electronic expansion valve) throughout the system. Subcooling devices in system maintain capacity at extreme system refrigerant pipe lengths and minimize refrigerant noise. Water System Circulating water must meet Samsung specifications and regulations. Refer to the DVM S Water Design Guide found at www.dvmdownload.com. The water pipe system must be closed loop. If hydrothermal or open cooling towers are used, additional heat exchangers must be installed. Excess heat within the water circuit can be exhausted via a dry cooler or cooling tower. Alternative heat sinks can also be used, including natural water sources such as rivers, lakes and bore holes (where local laws and regulations allow). Existing process or chilled water circuits can also be utilized if fitted with additional heat exchangers. Low pressure hot water from a boiler is generally utilized to maintain the required temperature levels within the water circuit. Steam, district/process/industrial heating systems or solar energy can also act as a heat source. Water flow switch, strainers, ball valves, expansion tanks, heat exchangers, water line service ports, pressure gauges, vibration isolators, additional water pumps, and other items are required (purchased separately). AntiFreezing Protection If inlet water temperature is below 50 F, appropriate antifreeze must be used according to water temperature. When lowest inlet water temperature is 23 F, freezing point of antifreeze must be lower than 17.6 F. When lowest inlet water temperature is 14 F, freezing point of antifreeze must be lower than 5 F.
