Fact Sheet MIRADOR 500WG Fungicide A Wettable Powder (WG) containing 500 g/kg azoxystrobin MIRADOR WG is a broad spectrum fungicide from the strobilurin group of QoI (Quinoline outside Inhibitor) fungicides and has systemic, translaminar, protectant and anti-sporulant properties. MIRADOR WG is most effective when used in a preventative treatment programme. MIRADOR WG controls a wide range of diseases in grapes, field tomatoes, Onions, peas and potatoes. MIRADOR WG FEATURES PROTECTANT CURATIVE DISTRIBUTION GREEN LEAF AREA RETENTION RAINFAST BENEFICIAL INSECTS SYSTEMIC MIRADOR WG inhibits spore growth by acting on the mitochondria within minutes of spore germination. For this reason it MUST be applied before fungal spores germinate for maximum effect. Apply before or at the first indications of disease symptoms. MIRADOR WG acts in the same way if applied when disease symptoms are more advanced, but control is improved by tank mixing with other fungicides which provides a combined attack on the fungus. REMEMBER though, that once disease symptoms are visible, the leaf has already been damaged and productive green area lost. MIRADOR WG redistributes evenly within the leaf and on the leaf surface. About 20% of the applied MIRADOR WG is taken into the leaf on application and the balance remains in the waxy cuticle of the leaf. This equilibrium is maintained by pulses of uptake each time the leaf is wetted by overhead irrigation or rainfall. MIRADOR WG helps retain green photosynthetic area longer by controlling disease and because biochemical effects of MIRADOR WG within the leaf help delay leaf senescence. Green leaf retention increases yield by increasing fruit weights. MIRADOR WG is rainfast within two hours. MIRADOR WG does not affect beneficial species including Parasitic Wasps, Hover Flies, Lacewings and Honeybees. MIRADOR WG is stable within the plant and moves upwards and outwards in the xylem.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: GRAPES Powdery Mildew Downy Mildew Botrytis* 40g/100 litres of water. DO NOT apply less than 400g of MIRADOR WG per hectare. Apply at 10 to14 day intervals from early flowering to pre-harvest. Use the shorter spray intervals during periods of severe disease pressure. * Botrytis: When MIRADOR WG is used in a seasonal spray program it will provide control of Botrytis additional to that of specific botryticides such as Switch TM. MIRADOR WG MUST NOT be used instead of specific botryticides at strategic timings. ONIONS Downy Mildew Pink Rot Apply in a minimum of 400 litres of water/ha for a crop in full canopy to ensure uniform coverage. Apply as a protective spray at 7 day intervals from the 2 leaf growth stage or when conditions favour disease infection but prior to disease development. Application to established Downy Mildew may not give reliable control. Add a surfactant at recommended label rates. Use higher spraying pressure or air assisted equipment to MIRADOR WG will contribute to the control of Pink Rot (Phoma terrestris). Neck rot (Botrytis allii) 250 g/ha MIRADOR WG can be applied at key timings for neck rot control i.e. flag leaf and pre harvest. Apply in sufficient water to ensure thorough and uniform coverage. Applications MUST be made with the addition of anonionic wetting agent at manufacturer s label rates. Use higher spraying pressure or air assisted equipment to DO NOT apply more than 4 applications of MIRADOR WG per season. TOMATOES: Field Tomatoes Early Blight Late Blight Black Mould Apply in a minimum of 500 litres water/ha for a crop in full canopy to ensure uniform coverage. Apply as a protective spray at 10 to 14 day intervals. Use higher spraying pressure or air assisted equipment to DO NOT apply a surfactant or crop oil concentrate when treating field tomatoes.

PEAS NOT for use on Peas to be harvested in pods and consumed whole; e.g. Snow Peas and Snap Peas Ascochyta Downy Mildew Powdery Mildew Apply in a minimum of 200 litres of water/ha for a crop in full canopy to ensure uniform coverage. The first application should be made as a protective spray at 5th node to 1st pod formation. A second application 14 to 21 days later is required if disease pressure remains high. The addition of a surfactant at recommended label rates will assist crop coverage and spray distribution. Use higher spraying pressure or air assisted equipment to Before applying MIRADOR WG ensure the crop is free from any stress caused by environmental or agronomic factors. Application to established Downy Mildew, Ascochyta or Powdery Mildew will not give reliable control. POTATOES: foliar application Early Blight Late Blight* Apply in a minimum of 500 litres of water/ha for a crop in full canopy to ensure uniform coverage. Apply as a protective spray at 7 to 10 day intervals during periods of active growth. Intervals can be increased to 10 to later in the season as haulm growth ceases. Always use the closer intervals during periods of severe disease pressure. Use higher spraying pressure or air assisted equipment to enhance penetration in densely foliated crops. * Late Blight : Under climatic conditions which create severe Late Blight disease pressure, either tank mix MIRADOR WG with 1.1 kg/ha ADAMA MANCOZEB or alternately, apply 1 or 2 sprays of a systemic/protectant fungicide such as RIDOMIL TM Gold MZ WG, then revert to the use of MIRADOR WG. Potato foliar diseases < Target Spot or Early Blight (left) > Irish Blight or Late Blight (right)

POTATOES : in-furrow planting at application Black scurf Silver scurf* 5g/100m of row Apply at planting as an in-furrow spray in 50 to 150 litres of water/ha. Direct the spray into the furrow just before the tuber is covered with soil as a 15 to 30 cm band ensuring the tuber and immediate surrounding soil is sprayed. Do NOT apply MIRADOR WG if planting in hot, sandy soils as bacterial rots may be aggravated. * Silver scurf : suppression only of silver scurf Potato tuber diseases < Black Scurf(left) > Silver Scurf (right) POTATOES NORTH ISLAND : Suggested spray programme for table potatoes

SOUTH ISLAND : Suggested spray programme for table potatoes SOUTH ISLAND : Suggested spray programme for seed potatoes.. WITHHOLDING PERIODS Grapes Onions Peas (garden without pods/process without pods) Dry Seed Peas and Dry Animal Feed Peas Pea/hay silage Potatoes Tomatoes (field) 35 days 35 days

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogens less sensitive to MIRADOR WG or related strobilurin products develop. To minimise this risk use strictly in accordance with the label instructions. If 2 to 3 consecutive applications of MIRADOR WG or a related strobilurin product are used they must be followed by at least 2 applications of a fungicide from a different mode of action group before MIRADOR WG or a related strobilurin product is used again. If the final application is MIRADOR WG or a related strobilurin product, then a fungicide from a different group should be used as the first application in the following season. GRAPES: Apply a maximum of 3 applications of MIRADOR WG or a related strobilurin product to the crop in any one season. POTATOES and FIELD TOMATOES: Foliar applications of MIRADOR WG or a related strobilurin product applications should not exceed one third of the total fungicide applications made to the crop in 1 season. USE WARNING: MIRADOR WG is extremely phytotoxic to certain varieties of apple. MIRADOR WG cannot be used in any manner that could result in spray drift reaching apple trees. Sprayers used for MIRADOR WG applications cannot be used to spray apples nor cause drift onto apples even after normal decontamination procedures have been followed. MIXING: Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Shake the closed container the measure the required amount of MIRADOR WG into the spray tank adding any tank mix products last. Maintain agitation until spraying is complete. Do NOT leave the spray mix in the sprayer overnight. APPLICATION: It is important that optimum spray coverage of the crop is achieved. Increase water rates as necessary to ensure complete foliar cover at all stages of crop development. The rates recommended are for high volume spraying. For low volume concentrate spraying adjust dilution rates accordingly. Wetting agent additives are not normally required when using MIRADOR WG. COMPATIBILITY: MIRADOR WG is compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. Each product should be added separately to the bulk of the water in the spray tank whilst filling and agitator working.
