ESD Product Information Energy Savings Devices (ESD) are located inside the room to activate room lighting, power and air conditioning circuits. ESDs are activiated by inserting the room keycard into the ESD socket. ESDs have two unique features: 1. Data identification enabled - only activated with a Mifare keycard. 2. Dual relay feature allows the A/C system to be independently controlled by the following two actions: - keycard is inserted into the ESD only - The room door and/or windows are closed Reed switches are installed on the room door and windows that switch off the A/C if ajar. The lights and power circuits remain switched on. These two features increase the effectiveness of the ESD energy saving device. have received feedback from 20% to 30% energy usage reduction. ESD Series Specifications Includes: - ESD Device - Backing block for installation fitment - Fixing screws and install instructions Features: - Activated by Mifare access keycards - Dual relay output for independent A/C control - Adjustable egress time delay: 15-30 seconds - LED indication / location indication - Adjustable valid Mifare sectors for keycard data indentification - Up to 20 to 30% increased energy savings compared to non-mifare activated ESD - Australian SAA certified
ESD Models Model Data Indentification Dual Relay SSA Certifcation Reed switch required ESD-910 ESD-920 ESD-950 Data Identification Data Identification is a function that is programmable on the ESD switch. It enables an encryption process that only actives the switch with a valid room keycard. programs the ESD switches in-house to ensure the highest level of security. Data Identification means the ESD will NOT activate with the following cards: - Business cards - Transport cards - Third party Mifare cards - Credit cards The ESD will only activate with: - Encoded room keycard by lock software. Reed Switches Reed Switches (RS) are installed along windows and doors. When the reed switches are active the A/C will run normally. If a window and/or door is ajar, the reed switches will break the circuit and cut the power to the A/C. Door reed switch Window reed switch Wireless Reed Switches Wireless Reed Switches (WRS) work the same as regular Reed Switches but are wireless. WRS s are powered by ZigBee technology which operates on 915 MHz radio bands. The WRS package comes with 3 components and is ideal for retrofit installations in exisiting buildings. Setup is simple and all wiring diagrams are provided to onsite electricians. A/C Controller Installed into A/C power and is paired with ESD and WRS WRS (with ZigBee receiver) Installed onto doors and windows No wiring No wiring ESD-920 Installed at entrance into 240V AC *battery powered receiver (2 years battery life)
Installation and Technical Information The following items are the pre-wiring requirements for each room. - 240V AC power supply cable to power up the ESD. The normal location for the ESD is just inside the main door entrance. - 2 x twin 240V cable wiring from the ESD location to the sub-board (LAMP for light/power and HVAC for A/C). - 2 x relays/contactors inside (or in near proximity to) your room electrical sub-board or air conditioning unit. - Service life: >100 000 times while 240V relay is active - Colour: white - Operating Temp: -10C to 60C - Operating humidity: 10% to 95% RH - Dimensions: W86mm x H86mm x D46mm - Voltage: 16 Amp 220-240V AC 50Hz A/C HVAC LAMP - Current: 10A each, or 16A max combined load - Egress time delay: 15 seconds
