SECTION 4 Installing Your Shelf Rack STEP 2: PLANNING YOUR GLASS RACK - SHELF COMBO INSTALLATION Verify where the unit is to be placed in the van, taking into account all equipment being installed, shelf sizes, and the most convenient floor and wall mounting points. Mark floor and wall mounting locations. Verify that mounting locations will not puncture the fuel tank or break fuel lines, brake lines, and wiring harness. If the van has a floor liner mat, cut 1ʺ diameter holes using a hole saw to install blind fasteners directly into the sheet metal floor. Check for clearance around wheel wells, tire jack, fuel tank, fuel filler, brake lines, and wiring harness. STEP 3: DRILL & MOUNT FLOOR LOCATIONS Move the rack out of the way and drill the floor mounting holes. Verify again that mounting locations do not interfere with any of the aforementioned parts of the van. Install plus nuts in the floor (See pg. 7). Reposition the unit and check for alignment. Mount the unit to the floor. Use a washer and install mounting bolts into the plus nuts. Use shims (not supplied) as required to level the unit ensuring a solid connection to the van floor. Wait until the unit is attached to the walls before completely tightening the floor mounting bolts. Note: If you are installing this rack in a ProMaster van you must use the 5ʺ riser (P/N 140123005A) 4
SECTION 4 Installing Your Shelf Rack STEP 4: DRILL WALL MOUNTING LOCATIONS Pre-assemble the wall mounting straps by attaching angle brackets to one end of the strap. Place the strap against the side of rack unit and mark the mounting locations on the van's wall and the rack. It is important to make sure that the angle brackets are aligned with the end panels of the rack unit and perpendicular to the van wall. STEP 5: ATTACH MOUNTING STRAPS TO WALL Install plus nuts into the drilled holes and attach mounting straps with assembled angle bracket to the van's wall. Verify that the mounting strap is flush with the side panel of the unit. 5
SECTION 4 Installing Your Shelf Rack STEP 6: ATTACH MOUNTING STRAPS TO SHELF RACK Finish installing the mounting straps by attaching them to the shelf rack using the supplied hardware and pre-drilled holes in the side panels. Drill a second hole into the side panel to add a second attachment point for the mounting straps. Note: In some cases, the pre-drilled holes on the rack may not line up with the mounting straps. This can be solved by drilling an additional hole into the unit. Additionally, mounting straps can be trimmed or bent to get the best fit to the inside wall of the van. 6
