2 LSN RF Fire Detection System 5 Voltage spply 6 Reed contact 7 LEDs 8 Tamper contact 9 Monitoring of external voltage spply 10 SPU6001 Radio modle Fnctions The LSN RF Fire Detection System (the radio cell) consists of an and p to 30 DOW 1171 Optical RF Smoke Detectors or p to 10 SMF121 RF Manal Call Points. The RF Expansion Modle is installed as an LSN element in a loop or stb line and is the interface between the RF Smoke Detectors and the fire panel. The information transfer between the detector and the Expansion Modle is bi-directional. If a base channel is occpied by an external system, this is recognized immediately and the radio cell switches to a secondary channel to garantee alarm transmission. The LSN part in the RF Expansion Modle is spplied with voltage via the LSN cable. The radio modle connected reqires a separate power spply. The integrated microcontroller drives interfaces and ser elements and is responsible for data transfer between the RF Smoke Detector and the fire panel. The FK 100 LSN has a tamper contact, a reed switch for manally activating the configration mode and three LEDs for displaying the operating stats. The RF Expansion Modle meets the standard reglations and gidelines for secrity systems: EN 54; DIN VDE 0833; VdS. DOW 1171 Optical RF Smoke Detector The battery-powered, configrable RF Smoke Detector operates sing the reliable scattered light principle with side scattering. In conjnction with the modern detection algorithm it achieves niform response behavior, while providing otstanding interference immnity. The same radio modle is integrated into the detector and the RF Expansion Modle for bidirectional information transfer. SMF121 RF Manal Call Point The SMF121 RF Manal Call Point is sed to trigger an alarm in the event of a fire or other emergency. Via a wireless connection, the SMF121 and the reqired SMF6120 RF Base (battery-powered) easily connect to the. Certifications and approvals The FK 100 LSN complies with EN54-17:2005 EN54-18:2005 EN54-25:2008 The DOW 1171 complies with: EN54-7:2000/A1:2002/A2:2006 EN54-25:2008/AC:2010 The radio modle sed in the FK 100 LSN RF Expansion Modle, the DOW 1171 Optical RF Smoke Detector and in the SMF6120 RF Base is certified in the following contries (radio licensing in line with ANNEX4, Directive 99/5EC Radio recognition, CE 0123 (!)): Astria (A), Belgim (B), Croatia (HR), Denmark (DK), Germany (D), Italy (I), Lxemborg (L), The Netherlands (NL), Norway (N), Portgal (P), Spain (E), Slovakia (SK), Slovenia (SLO), Sweden (S), Switzerland (CH), Great Britain (GB). Region Certification Germany VdS G 211065 DOW 1171 VdS Erope CE DOW 1171 CE G 211071 FK 100 LSN FK 100 LSN CE SMF121+SMF 6120 CPD 0786-CPD-21077 DOW 1171 CPD Installation/configration notes 0786-CPD-21080 FK 100 LSN Bondary vales Up to 30 DOW 1171 Optical RF Smoke Detectors can be connected per. A maximm of 127 LSN elements is allowed per LSN processing assembly. Each RF Expansion Modle and each RF Smoke Detector or RF Manal Call Point is conted as an LSN element, e. g. with the maximm nmber of smoke detectors: 1 FK 100 LSN + 30 DOW 1171 = 31 LSN elements. When several FK 100 LSNs are installed in the same area, a minimm distance of 2 m mst be maintained between the individal RF Expansion Modles. In addition, the maximm distance of 40 m and an attenation of 90 mst be adhered to between the RF Expansion Modles and the RF Smoke Detectors (see Planning a Radio Cell). 16 radio channels are available. The RF Expansion Modles atomatically search for a free channel within the permitted range. The basic radio channels can be displayed sing WinPara or FSP-5000-RPS. This means that a maximm of 16 RF Expansion Modles (recommended is a maximm of 10) may be installed within one area (max. distance 40 m/max. attenation 90 ). The installation of additional RF Expansion Modles has to be checked on a case-bycase basis depending on whether the radio range does affect that of the first RF Expansion Modle grop (with a max. of 16 RF Expansion Modles). The RF Expansion Modles and the RF Smoke Detectors mst not be installed in a metal cabinet. The necessary room for servicing (e. g. replacing batteries) and repair mst be taken into accont.

3 LSN RF Fire Detection System Connection and Power Spply An FK 100 LSN mst not be connected to an NAK 100 LSN Branch Interface. A separate power spply is necessary for the modle, the microprocessor and the peripherals. Power is spplied to the LSN components in the FK 100 LSN via two wires in the LSN line. The wire pair of the separate power spply can be looped throgh to provide power to the downstream LSN elements. Notice If the power spply to the FK 100 LSN is disconnected, the batteries mst be removed from the RF Smoke Detectors! Accessories If wall strctres or other strctral properties of a bilding are not known, field strength measrements are taken sing the DZW 1171 wireless test nit to ensre more reliable planning. The Radiospy software with field strength measrement nit is a convenient tool for checking the planning for a radio cell and displaying it graphically sing a PC/laptop. The DBZ 1193A detector identification for the DOW 1171 is a polycarbonate holder with cover for holding an identifier plate. The exchanger device ensres convenient detector replacement for the DOW 1171 RF Smoke Detector. For commissioning a wireless system withot a fire panel (FACP), a magnet is needed to activate the reed contact in the RF Expansion Modle. FK 100 LSN device constrction 37,4 1 2 3 35,7 6 Reed contact 7 Radio modle 8 Interface board 9 Tamper contact 10 LED display indicating operating state 11 Terminal block Planning a wireless cell The range that can be achieved by a radio system in a bilding is generally dependent on the reflection and absorption responses of the materials sed and on the design of the ceilings and walls! Line of sight visibility between the wireless components is not necessary. The RF Expansion Modle shold always be positioned right between the RF Smoke Detectors/ Manal Call Points. Since radio propagation is spherical, the connection is not restricted to a single floor. To determine the actal attenation at the installation site, the attenation given by distance mst be added to the attenation vales of each constrction element (walls, ceilings). The total attenation of the transmission path mst not exceed 90. The limiting vales and calclation examples apply both to the RF Expansion Modle - RF Smoke Detector radio link and to the RF Expansion Modle RF Expansion Modle radio link. Attenation of the transmission path from distance with line of sight In bildings, dobling of the distance between RF Expansion Modle and RF detector raises the attenation figre by 16 to 17.
