Failure to comply with these instructions may cause a fire, electrical shock or other injury to persons or property. 1. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. 2. Children between 3 and 8 years old should only be allowed to switch the appliance on/off, provided that it has been correctly installed in its intended operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. They should not plug in, regulate, perform maintenance or clean the appliance. 3. DO NOT position the heater on soft surfaces or where openings may become blocked. Ensure the base is fitted and fully assembled, and the unit is upright on a flat stable surface before operating. This heater is designed for use on patios and in beer gardens & smoking areas. The unit has been IP55 Weatherproof approved; however, to prolong the life of the heater it is strongly recommended that the heater is stored in a dry place during heavy rain and when not in use cover the appliance with the cover provided. 4. DO NOT hide the power cord in long grass or leave close to an operating lawnmower. Arrange the cord away from areas where it may be tripped over. 5. DO NOT insert or allow objects to touch the heating element and never place anything on the heater safety guard (e.g. towels), as this may damage the heater and could cause an electrical shock or fire. Never use your heater to dry washing. If the heating element has stopped glowing it may still be live, please check that the heat setting indicates the heater is off. 6. Always disconnect your appliance from the mains before any cleaning. 7. DO NOT use the heater in areas where petrol, paint, or other flammable substances are stored. Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. 8. Always unplug the heater when not in use. To disconnect from the power supply, grip the plug and pull from the power socket. Never pull by the cord. 9. DO NOT direct the heater towards curtains, furniture or other flammable objects and ensure that they are at least 0.8 metre from the front and 0.5 metre from the top and sides. 10. Extreme care should be taken when the heater is used near children and pets. 11. Do not use the heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly. 12. In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater. The electrical cord must be fully unwound before use. Heater should not be positioned directly under a socket outlet. 13. The front grille is intended to prevent direct access to the heating elements and must be in place when the heater is on. 14. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if, they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not be attempted by children without supervision. 15. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. 16. INTRODUCTION INSTALLATION Our sleek Edge heater is designed to be mounted vertically direct onto any wall surface to save space and blend into your space. Make sure your Edge is mounted at least 10cm from the floor, 80cm away from other objects in front and has at least 50cm cleaance to the left and right sides. Popular for both patio and covered/indoor spaces, the Edge is rated at 2000W and its carbon fibre infrared technology will comfortably heat up to 14m 2. Simple hook and slot mounting makes installation easy, while safety is always paramount. We use an innovative safe-touch housing where temperature cannot exceed 60-degrees, as well as having a flocked-grill for maximum protection. The high waterproof rating of IP55 means it s built to withstand the elements, whether wind, snow or rain, and hence suitable for outdoors installation. For convenience the Edge comes with a remote control so that the heater can be controlled from a distance, and they also have a handy built-in timer and an eco-mode that turns off the heater if the sensor cannot detect people within the vicinity. E D Use the Sleeve Anchors (4 x E) to nail the Slot Bracket (D) on the wall vertically as shown. Recommended height: To mount your heater 25-40cm high from the floor, height of the Slot Bracket s (D) upper edge on the wall should be 85-100cm. Install the mains socket (bottom edge) 40-55cm vertically higher than the Slot Bracket s upper edge. If the wall mains socket is there already, to make a flush mounting, you need to vertically fix the Slot Bracket 8cm (minimum) below the socket s bottom edge. Make sure the Slot Bracket is at least 70cm high from the floor. Features Innovative electric heating technology produces 2000W of infrared heat Ultra low glare carbon fibre heating element built to withstand over 8000 hours of use Heat distribution area up to 14m 2 Waterproof rating of IP55 making it perfect for outdoor use, whatever the weather Comes complete with vertical wall-mount bracket for flexible, easy installation Control the device using the control panel or remote control Advanced control functions include eco-mode (detects movement and shuts down when no one in vicinity) and off-timer (shuts down at specified time of 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours) Patented snap-in heating tube structure makes replacing tubes easy Safe-touch housing material temperature cannot exceed 60 Robust anodised extruded aluminium construction with brushed metal finish WARNING 40cm-55cm Recommended for easy cable storing E A D If you want to fix your heater on the wall to avoid theft, before you mount the heater, fasten the Fix Bracket (F) to the heater by its Fix Screw (F) - the Screw and Washer may be assembled on the Heater s body already). After mounting the heater, nail the Bracket on the wall by the Sleeve Anchor (1 x E) - see left picture. Hold the Heater (A) vertically and insert the Hook on the back into the slot of the Bracket (D). To get the flush mounting, you need to plug in before mounting the heater. Twist the cable into the heater s back and plug in (make sure the Power Switch is at OFF position when you do so). In this case, your mains socket s bottom edge shall be vertically 10-60cm higher than the Slot Bracket s upper edge. This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided. 70cm or higher F The gap between the heater and the wall is bigger than the cable s diameter, so plugging in a socket away from the heater is possible. 10cm minimum 4 5
