micropac. Personal Gas Detection Instruments ST-53-99

Chemical Industry... Metal Industry... ST-51-99 In many fields of industry and at numerous workplaces people have to be protected against gas hazards. In the metal-working industry high CO concentrations represent a permanent danger. People working in the petrochemical industry have to be warned in time against too high H 2 S concentrations. Oxygen deficiency and surplus are other dangers requiring permanent monitoring. micropac is a compact gas warning instrument available in three versions (CO, H 2 S and O 2 ) to monitor the ambient air in industry, during the transport of dangerous goods and at other workplaces exposed to gas hazards. This state-of-the-art instrument incorporates various outstanding features: extremely long operating period pocket size versatile clip infrared interface for data transmission wide temperature and humidity range extremely functional small, robust housing different display variants optimized electrochemical DrägerSensors international Ex-approvals ST-315-98 2

The pocket-sized gas warning instrument Equipment The micropac family comes in three versions: micropac CO, micropac H 2 S and micropac O 2. All instruments are equipped with a well arranged display providing the most important information. During the development of micro- Pac the main focus was laid on a long operating period of the unit without exchange of sensors or battery. Two buttons provide for ease of operation. The instruments can be configured via an infrared interface. micropac allows adjustment of different display modes, other alarm limits, measuring units (mg/m 3 ) or a life signal. As special accessory a helmet holder is available allowing for the device to be carried not only at the chest pocket or belt, but also at the helmet. Sensors The sensors installed in the micro- Pac instruments are based on the DrägerSensors XS EC. Optimized for the use with micropac, they guarantee lowest drift, cross-sensitivities and longest service life for application of the unit over a period of two years without calibration. Renewal After a 2-year operating period (1 year in case of micropac O 2 ) the user may have the instrument renewed or receive a reconditioned unit upon return of the used one. This low-cost method then allows an operating period of another two years. ST-317-98 ST-361-98 4
