This professional, hands free system uses your existing plumbing to give your pet clients a cleaner, healthier bathing experience. IMPORTANT INFORMATION!! 1. All DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM components are designed to work as part of a complete bathing system. They must be installed in the proper order, relative to each other, as outlined in these instructions. Placement of components in alternate configurations may result in system malfunction: water back up, excessive pressure, and flooding may result from improper installation. 2. Do not interchange any components of the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM including hoses and nozzles with any non DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM components. Use all components only as intended. 3. Do not operate the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM if there are any leaks in the system. 4. Do not expose the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM to temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. BEFORE STARTING 1. Please read and understand all instructions prior to beginning installation. If there are any questions, please call PetEdge customer service at 1-800-638-5754. 2. The DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM is designed to draw shampoo with 2.5 gallons of water per minute. To test, hold a gallon sized container under the water source. If the container takes less than 17 seconds to fill, the water pressure is adequate. Please review CAUSES FOR LOW WATER PRESSURE on page 6 if the water pressure is inadequate. INSTALLING A DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM 1. Determine a mounting location for the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM within 5 feet of the water supply. The DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM should be mounted at a convenient height and within easy reach to the left or right of the operator, whichever is closest to the water supply There must be sufficient room below the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM to allow for the bathing hose and tubing that connects to the product containers. Do not mount the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM on the back wall of the tub where it may be subject to damage from biting or chewing animals. If an anti-siphon valve will be used, (step 13), consider that some water draining may occur. Consider mounting the unit over an area with drainage. 2. Make sure the water supply is turned off. Connect the Bathing Unit (A) to the water supply using the Water Inlet Hose (F). Tighten to avoid leakage. 3. Mount the Bathing Unit (A) to the wall in your bathing area using the two mounting holes on the unit and the included Wall Mounting Hardware (I). The unit should be installed in a way so that it can be positioned above the bottles of shampoo or conditioner that will be connected to it. This will create a natural suction. The Shampoo/Conditioner Tubes (B) are 7 long to give you a wide range of positioning options. They can be cut if needed to shorten the distance and improve the suction. When mounting on tile, use the grout line rather than drilling directly into the tile. Use the correct size and type drill bit for the mounting hardware and surface. Do not make the holes too large. Consider placing plumbers putty or bath tub sealant at the mounting holes, prior to installing the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM unit to prevent water seepage through the mounting holes into the wall. 4. Attach the two Shampoo/Conditioner Tubes (B) to the Bathing Unit (A) on one end, then drop the strainer end of the Shampoo/Conditioner Tubes (B) directly into the Shampoo/Conditioner bottle. Screw the Shampoo/Conditioner Caps onto the top of the Shampoo/Conditioner bottles. 5. Attach the discharge hose (G) to the bottom of the Bathing Unit (A). Using the Hose Brackets and Screws (J), secure the Discharge Hose (G) to the wall about 12 below the unit. 6. Screw the Sprayer (H) onto the end of the Discharge Hose (G). 7. Turn on the water supply. Minimum 25 PSI is required to operate the unit. 8. Turn ON product valve, slide the selector switch to desired position. The center position provides full-volume rinse. 9. Test the temperature of the water before bathing pet. 10. Bathe pet thoroughly, making sure to concentrate on problem areas. 11. The Sprayer (H) offers one spray setting. 12. To turn off the Unit, twist counterclockwise until it s off. 13. Some local ordinances require the use of an anti-siphon valve. Please consult with a plumber to determine local requirements. Page 3

FIRST TIME OPERATION - PRIMING THE SYSTEM 1. Select Rinse on the function selector. 2. Turn the water on and open the water flow valve. 3. Check for any leaks and tighten any connections as necessary. 4. Select product 1 on the product selection dial; this will correspond to the product attached to the tube at the bottom of the unit. BATHING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Select Rinse on the function selector. Turn on your water and spray water using hose nozzle so that water is flowing through the system. Adjust the water temperature to the desired setting. At any time during the bathing procedure the water flow can be turned off or reduced by using the flow control valve. Turn off the water at the water source when not in use for longer periods of time. 2. Select a product using the product selection slider to infuse product into the water. 3. There is no need to pre-wet the animal. Hold the spray nozzle 3 to 4 inches from the animal s coat. The vigorous flow of water / shampoo mixture will penetrate through the hair to the skin. Hand scrubbing is not necessary. Move the spray nozzle back and forth with a slow, steady motion, angling the spray pattern against the grain of the hair to ensure a thorough cleaning. Animals suffering from various skin conditions, arthritis, hip dysplasia, or other back, bone, or muscle problems can benefit from a warm holistic / therapeutic bath. Concentrate the spray in a circular motion on areas that are affected. Follow a slow methodical, top to bottom, and side to side pattern to ensure a thorough cleaning and relaxing massage for the animal. 4. Turn the animal after finishing one side and continue bathing the other side. Use a leash tie-down bar installed 12 inches above the tub rim to allow the animal to be turned easily. For extremely dirty and greasy animals, a quick bath using an ultra cleaning or degreasing formula shampoo is recommended. Without rinsing the animal first, follow this with a more thorough bath using an everyday use shampoo formula. 5. Switch from using one product to another by turning the product selection dial. It is not necessary to turn off the water first. Use the hose end diffuser to reduce water pressure when washing or rinsing an animal s face. Flea and tick shampoos require that the animal be covered in lather for a specified amount of time to work. First bathe the animal using the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM and a shampoo to thoroughly clean the animal and effectively wash away most parasites. Follow bottle instructions to hand apply the flea and tick shampoo. Use the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM to efficiently rinse the animal. 6. After thoroughly bathing the animal, turn the function selector to Rinse. Within seconds, the combing action will consist of only oxygenated water. Repeat the methodical, slow, top to bottom, side to side action. Apply conditioner as needed. 7. When the DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM is not in use, the function selector should be left in the Rinse position. Page 4

DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM Maintenance and Troubleshooting Symptom: Backflow Into Concentrate Cause: Eductor check valve inoperable Solution: Clean*or replace check valve Symptom: Low Or No Water Flow Cause: Inlet screen clogged Solution: Clean*or replace Cause: Water Supply source inadequate Solution: 2.5 Gallons per minute flow necessary to operate unit; move unit or replumb incoming line K. Ball valve Cause: Scaled eductor or fittings Solution: Clean* Eductor Symptom: No Concentrate Draw Inlet screen Cause: Clogged check valve Solution: Clean* or replace Cause: Eductor clogged Solution: Clean* Check valve Check valve Cause: Inlet screen clogged Solution: Clean*or replace Cause: Clogged foot strainer (C) Solution: Clean* or replace C. Foot strainer Cause: Check valve not screwed into eductor firmly Solution: Tighten, but DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Symptom: No Discharge Cause: No water Solution: Turn Ball valve (K) to ON position Cause: Eductor clogged Solution: Clean* Symptom: Water Flow Won t Shut Off Cause: Ball valve (K) defective Solution: Replace To Clean: * In hard water areas, scale may form inside the discharge end of the eductor, as well as in other areas of the unit that are exposed to water. A scaled eductor can be cleaned (or kept from scaling) by drawing the descaling (deliming solution) solution through the unit. Operate the unit with the suction tube in the descaling solution. Operate the unit until solution is drawn consistently, then flush the unit by drawing clear water through it for a minute. Replace Shampoo/Conditioner container and put suction tube into Shampoo/Conditioner. Page 5

DUOBATHE BATHING SYSTEM Maintenance and Troubleshooting... Continued Notes: *Please ensure that you are using the Sprayer and Hoses that came with the system. Aftermarket accessories do not work because they restrict the water flow and vacuum pressure necessary for the system to operate. *Make sure that you have the Ball valve (K) turned all the way to the On position. This is needed to maximize the water pressure available to the system. *Water Flow rate needs to be at least 2.5 GPM (Gallons per minute). To test Flow Rate, a 5 gallon pail should fill in 90 seconds. If it takes 2 minutes or longer to fill a 5 gallon bucket, then the unit will not create enough suction to draw shampoo or conditioner. *Ensure all fittings and hose/tubing connections (Water, Shampoo/Conditioner) are tight and air is not getting into the system. *Collapsed Bottles - If a bottle collapse, make a small hole in the bottle anywhere above current level of the product. *Cold or Frozen Shampoo/Conditioner The system works best if the product is at room temperature. If the product that is used is cold or frozen, please allow the product to get to room temperature before using the system. *Cleaning Spray Nozzle Diffuser As necessary, unscrew the spray diffuser from the end of the spray nozzle and remove of buildup of blockage with the usage of a household lime and calcium remover (CLR) and rinse thoroughly to ensure all blockage is removed. CAUSES OF LOW WATER PRESSURE If the water flow/pressure is too low to provide for adequate bathing/rinsing, there could be several causes: The main pressure regulator may be set too low; resolve by resetting the pressure regulator. The water supply mixing valve may have a built in flow restrictor; resolve by removing the restrictor. A flow restricted anti-siphon valve may be installed at the water supply; resolve by installing an anti-siphon valve that does not restrict flow. The water pressure may be low coming into the building; resolve by installing a pressure booster pump. Consult with a plumber as necessary.
