We often give it little or no consideration until something happens that changes our perception overnight. This often happens when we or a loved one has an accident or becomes ill. Telecare and social alarms have been around since the 1970 s and have been a natural link in a chain of services that is set in place to increase security for those who need help or support. CareTech has been there from the beginning of this development and are still focused on delivering products and services that contribute to greater security and well-being. Today we are in the midst of a profound transformation of the way we communicate. The traditional analogue lines used by social alarms are changing, digital technology and IP is increasingly seen as the future of communication. Therefore, our products and services also need to change. We want to be at the forefront when changes occur, to create opportunities to provide additional security and support to those who need it regardless of technology. Analogue carephones Carephones are today an integral component of a safety network by many local authorities and home care organisations. Therefore, we believe that our efforts to develop reliable and innovative tools are very important. We develop products and services in close cooperation with our customers to ensure that our solutions match the needs of their service organisations and most importantly their users. Carephone Gina Gina is a unique battery-operated carephone which does not require mains power. Gina provides a practical solution where availability of a local mains power is not easily accessible. The Gina carephone eliminates electrician s costs related to installation of a new power point and ensures a speedy installation especially when a short term solution is needed. Carephone Gina, article number: 100003 Carephone Gloria+ Gloria+ is a practical, well-designed, mains-operated carephone that is ideal for use in the individual s own home. When the alarm is transmitted by telephone, Gloria+ provides information using synthesized speech, which ensures effective alarm reception and provides an excellent basis for quick and appropriate response. A wide choice of telecare accessories, including radio triggers, fall sensor, bed sensors and door alarms can be connected to the cost effective Gloria+ to create a tailored solution to meet individual needs. Carephone Gloria+, article number: 100005 Room Unit Grace+ Grace+ Room Unit is an ideal solution for use in sheltered accommodation or the assisted living environments with a central power supply and telephone exchange. With a centralised power supply, Grace is relatively maintenance-free. A synthesized speech message ensures an effective alarm reception and provides an excellent basis for quick and appropriate response. A wide choice of telecare devices, including radio triggers, fall sensor and door alarms can be connected to Grace+ to create a tailored solution to meet individual needs. Room Unit Grace, article number: 100002 3

Digital carephones CareIP is the first in a new generation of carephones, where communication takes place digitally. Through continuous monitoring, CareIP provides a much more secure platform than traditional social alarms. CareIP CareIP is the world s first IP carephone. This paves the way for new generation of social alarm services where communication takes place digitally. It communicates via an open SIP based protocol adapted for communication over IP and Next Generation Networks. The device simply connects into a domestic router, like a computer and works using broadband provision offering simple and easy installation. The advantages to both service users and service providers is that communication with the response centre is instant, an alarm call hits the operator s screen in seconds. CareIP is always online and any failure of the communications link will be instantly reported. One other significant feature is that all calls using a broadband connection are free. CareIP, article number: 100007 CareIP Mobile CareIP Mobile is a carephone which uses both GSM/GPRS communication and IP. In the event of the broadband being disabled the CareIP Mobile will convert to using GSM/GPRS communication until the broadband is enabled. This belt and braces approach combines two separate communication networks and provides a level of security far above traditional analogue devices. CareIP Mobile can also operate solely as GSM carephone. The carephone is not tied to any network provider and a low cost SIM card is mounted securely in the device. This enables the installation of an alarm where the client does not have a telephone line. This is a growing problem in the UK due to friends and families purchasing mobile phones for their loved ones which leads to them not requiring a telephone line. The CareIP Mobile is compatible with all 2G mobile phone providers and is completely future proof. It also has the option of connection via the internet at a later date and therefore a secure future is then assured for clients and end users. CareIP Mobile, article number: 100008 CIP Gateway 9600 CIP Gateway is a device that allows reception of CareTech s digital alarm by an analogue alarm receiving centre (ARC) supplied by another manufacturer. The basic function of the CIP gateway is to translate CareTech s open Internet Protocol (CIP) to traditional DTMF protocols. CIP Gateway 9600, article number: 100010 4
