2013 Joint EMS, Rescue & Fire Training Calendar v1.0, 1-1-2013 This calendar includes weekly topics and study assignments. Special training opportunities are also listed. This is a living schedule that is open to adjustments and improved training as needed throughout the year, based in part on instructor availability. This training schedule is designed for: 1) satisfying Volunteer Firefighter I certification over 24 months, when combined with attending the Quincy Fire Academy, and also completing: I-100 (online), I-700 (online), First Responder Operational (class & field); S-130 (online & 8-hour field day); S-190 (online), auto extrication (field class); and confined space awareness (class); and 2) For providing appropriate refresher skills practice and education.
Regional Training Offerings We are working on scheduling a number of regional training offerings through the Plumas County Fire Chiefs Association. Target offerings for 2013 include Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational (FRO), Driver Operator 1A & 1B, an S-130 field day, Low-Angle Rescue, RIC & burn trailer or simulation exercises, a fire service photography & video course, a team skills challenge course debuting during the driving and pumping drill, and the start of officer-specific training. In addition we will be evolving a skills testing program. For those interested, grant funded Vol FD Recruiting & Retention seminars are available through CSFA (14 hours), along with 32-hour Volunteer FD Leadership classes. While we will not host any in Plumas County in 2013, they are held in Northern California on weekends. Contact Tom Forster for more information. Stay tuned
