ErP 2009/125/CE Directives Eco design Energy labelling
ErP Policy ims The ErP (Energy related Products) European policy is split into two directives: ecodesign and energy labelling. It aims to improve the energy effi ciency of appliances sold in the European Union in order to help to protect the environment. Ecodesign: sets down minimum energy performance values to be achieved thanks to required investment in appliances. Energy labelling: encourages customers to purchase the most effective home products by highlighting their energy classes (from down to G). Example: energy label for home ventilation units This European regulation, in the context of mandatory CE markings, applies to energyconsuming products. The Ecodesign regulations defi ne the requirements that the products in question must satisfy in order to be sold and/or put into service. These requirements concern product energy performance, but also specify functional requirements and acoustic performance requirements that ensure correct use of the products. Furthermore, documentary requirements ensure that suffi cient information is available to enable buyers to select the most suitable products. The Energy labelling requirements apply to residential market products. The aim is to assist the consumer in their product selection with information about the energy classes of the products in question. Energy labelling: revision of label with new classes. Example of changes to the labelling on a water heater: 09/2015 09/2017 I B C D E F G H L II I L + B C D E F G II +
Countries affected by the ErP policy ustria, the zores, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Canaries, Cyprus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guyane, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, Saint-Barthelemy, Saint-Martin, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom. ldes and its vision Over the years, even before the Ecodesign Directive took effect, all front-line ldes products targeted energy effi ciency. On this basis, as a leader and expert, ldes consistently proposed low-energy products and supported its customers in meeting the challenges inherent to thermal regulations. Products launched in 2014 were already compliant with the requirements of 01/01/2015 and 27/09/2019 (thermal comfort) and 01/01/2016 (ventilation). Highlighting low-consumption motors: ldes developed its fi rst micro-watt fan units in 2002 is still aiming to reduce the consumption of auxiliary equipment for all of its ventilation and thermal comfort products. Highlighting modulated ventilation systems: ldes has sold humidity-controlled ventilation systems since 1982. In 2010, ldes produced humidity-controlled thermodynamic water heaters using exhaust air. In 2010, ldes launched the fi rst ever humidity-controlled Heat Recovery unit. Highlighting recovery systems: ldes aims to recover energy from ventilation systems to limit the consumption of heating systems, but also domestic hot water systems for and even cooling systems. Priorities for ldes Today, as a partner for the entire sector, ldes must meet the challenge of the more severe requirements of the Ecodesign Directive. The challenge for ldes is to sell products online that comply with ErP requirements, and in some cases that exceed them. ldes must also inform its customers of the consequences of this directive and ensure that they are aware of the advantages of the ldes product range. Finally, ldes will provide mandatory information on all support media (documentation, catalogues, websites, packaging, etc.) in accordance with the Eco-design and Energy labelling directives applicable to its products. Finally, it will be easy to see that ldes products comply with the ErP directive. For this purpose, the ErP directive is a fully-fl edged project for all ldes teams, according to the following schedule. Impacts of the ErP policy ccording to the dates of application of regulations. Manufacturers and / or importers: sell ErP-compliant products and identify their level of performance (using an energy label or technical record). Distributors: purchase ErP-compliant products (available products in stock prior to this date on the premises of wholesalers can be used in full from the dates indicated) and communicate on mandatory information. Tradesmen, installers, operators, professional advisors: Install ErP-compliant products and replace existing products with identical ErP-compliant products. Suppliers: deliver products compliant with the ErP policy from its date of effect.
regulations The ventilation sector is affected by 2 ErP regulations: Fan units are covered by the Ecodesign regulation 327/2011 on fans driven by motors. units are covered by the Ecodesign 1253/2014 and Labelling 1254/2014 regulations to be published end-2014 on units. These regulations distinguish three main categories: - Residential ventilation units: electrical power consumption > 30 W; airfl ow 250 m 3 /h; airfl ow between 250 and 1000 m 3 /h declared exclusively for home use. - Non-Residential and Mixed Use ventilation units: electrical power consumption > 30 W; airfl ow > 1000 m 3 /h; airfl ow between 250 and 1000 m 3 /h and declared for mixed use (residential and non-residential). - Fan units with electrical power consumption 30 W. Thermodynamic water heaters are covered by the Ecodesign 814/2013 and Labelling 812/2013 regulations on water heaters and hot water tanks. They are also covered by ventilation regulations when connected to the exhaust airfl ow. Units combining ventilation, heating/cooling and hot water production (T.Zen) are not affected by the ErP for the time being.
