Figure 1: F890P 1 OVERVIEW The F890 redundant fieldbu power upply i deigned to provide redundant power for eight (8) Foundation fieldbu TM H1 egment. Pluggable connector are provided on the F890CA module carrier for connection to the eight egment a well a the eight Hot H1 port. Power for the eight fieldbu egment i provided by two F801 or F802 Power Module mounted on the carrier and operating in a redundant configuration. Failure alarm, galvanic iolation, power conditioning and egment termination are incorporated into each Power Module. A ingle Power Module may be ued where redundancy i not required. 2 DECRIPTION For maximum reliability, the module carrier contain no component and only provide interconnection between the Power Module and the external connection. The carrier circuit board i upported in a rigid metal frame that protect it from mechanical damage. ecure DINrail mounting i provided by integrated fixing. The F801 or F802 module provide galvanic iolation between the 24V DC input power and the fieldbu egment, a required by the IEC611582 fieldbu tandard and the Fieldbu Foundation TM FF831 validation tet for fieldbu power upplie. There i alo galvanic iolation between the fieldbu egment, thereby preventing crotalk between egment in the event of ground fault in the field wiring. Each egment ha it own current limitation and paive fieldbu power conditioner. Termination of the fieldbu egment i automatically maintained when ingle or redundant Power Module are fitted. The F890CA carrier i equipped with connector that will accept an F809F diagnotic module. The module continuouly monitor the performance of each of the eight fieldbu egment, providing information on the network health. Each Power Module ha indicator LED to how both it tatu and that of the eight egment under power. In 502090 Rev:H.0 1

normal operation, each green 'egment' LED i lit, howing that the egment i powered. If a egment i horted, or it voltage i below the rated output, it LED i extinguihed, and the red 'Alarm' LED i lit. Redundant 24V DC (nom.) input power i connected to the F890CA carrier uing twopart pluggable connector. Field wiring connection are available with either pluggable crew terminal (F890P) or pluggable pring clamp terminal (F890PC). 4 MECHANICAL 4.1 Mounting Orientation 4.3.1 Mounting Procedure Before tarting to mount the carrier on the DIN rail, rotate all ix of the DIN clamp crew counterclockwie (i.e. uncrew) until the clamping tab reach the poition hown in Figure 3a and none of the tab extend into the channel for the DIN rail. The F890CA carrier are deigned for mounting on a vertically aligned DINrail on a vertical urface. Thi method of mounting enure optimum heat diipation from the Power Module. 4.2 Encloure Requirement a) 4.2.1 General Requirement The aembly may be mounted in hazardou (claified) area ee ection 8 & 9. The following condition mut alo be atified to enure afe and reliable operation. a) Prevent any form of pollution that could compromie the operation of the unit. For example, chooe an unpolluted location or a uitable encloure to protect the aembly. b) Provide an adequate level of mechanical protection. Thi can be achieved by electing a protected location, a uitable encloure, or a combination of both. c) Enure that all cable entrie and connection are ecure by making proviion for the careful routing and ecuring of all cable. d) Provide adequate ecurity againt unauthorized interference. e) Enure that the permitted ambient temperature range of 40 C to 65 C (F802 i derated to 50 C for output load >60% of maximum rating) i not exceeded. Allow for power diipation within the encloure and conider the ue of hading againt direct unlight. b) Figure 3 DINrail clamp tab poition before mounting Pre the carrier onto the DINrail and rotate each of the DIN clamp crew clockwie until the tab tighten againt the DINrail. The clamping tab can be een through the Inpect clamp hole when they are in the correct poition. 4.4 Removal from DINrail The Power Module mut be removed from the carrier to obtain acce to the DINrail clamp crew. upport the carrier by preing it to the DINrail and uncrew (counterclockwie) the ix DINrail clamp crew. Turn each crew approximately two full turn when releaing it clamping tab from the rail. Remove carrier. 4.2.2 Outdoor Mounting If the power ytem i mounted in an outdoor location, ue a uitable encloure with a minimum of IP54 ingre protection. A higher level of ingre protection rating will be neceary if the working atmophere i or can be corroive or if the encloure i ubject to wet or duty environment. 4.3 DINrail Mounting The carrier i deigned for mounting on 35mm x 7.5mm T ection top hat DIN rail to EN50022 and ue ix builtin DIN clamp tab to hold it on the rail. The F801 power module mut be removed from the carrier to obtain acce to the DINrail clamp crew. 4.5 Mounting and Removal of the Power Module The Power Module are ecured to the carrier with four crew mounting. There are four locating connector (two for each Power Module) on the module carrier along with mating connector in the F801 or F802 module. Align the module with the retaining crew and pre onto the connector. Hold it in place while tightening the four retaining crew. To remove a Power Module, upport the module while uncrewing the four retaining crew at it bae. Lift the module off the carrier connector. Note: Earlier verion of the module carrier do not have locating connector. Align uing the retaining crew furthet from the module connector and rock onto the connector. 502090 Rev:H.0 3
